This place is not worth stopping at. Their customer service sucks. They are not accessible and don't tell you that ahead of time! They charge you a deposit that you can't get back. Then they charge you a third more for a "cabin" that is nothing more than a tiny hotel room in the parking lot. The manager was totally rude when I complained that we had to pay more because we needed an accessible room. As other reviews said the bedding, towels, furnishings etc are very old and belong in the dump.
Our room had a view of the broken down summer furniture and a shed that had a tarp for a wall.

The hotel is very old and is charming in that respect. We were in a queen room. When the train went by you can feel it in the room. The bathroom door does not lock, barely shuts. They could put deadbolts on the front door to the rooms make guests feel more secure. I put a chair and a cooler in front of the door as it was a simple door with a basic lock. The indoor pool, sauna and gym are great. The TV in the room was satellite and the WiFi work great. The only thing is the TV was 19 inches could barely see it. Beautiful view of the lake from our room. The back parking lot there a big indent that you have to go through, which caused my car to bottom out. You can go closer to the bush to avoid the biggest part of it but there was a truck and snowmobile trailer so there was no way around it. All in all it is a charming resort however I will not be back as it needs upgrades to everything.

We chose this place because of the proximity to the OFSC trails. This hotel was our first stop on the RAP tour for my husband and I. The hotel is right off the trail on Lake Bernard. We opted for a room in the hotel rather than a cottage so we could access the pool and nice restaurant for supper and breakfast. A comfortable stay!

We were not staying at the hotel; we did go there for breakfast. The dining room is a comfortable and calm space - a great place for a breakfast with friends who want to talk!
Great service-thank you Lucy! We all had versions of the two egg breakfast. All arrived hot and as requested. Coffee was kept hot. We walked out happy and not hungry!

Total waste of money who ever owns this once gem of a resort from my childhood should sell it cheap and get out the the hospitality business because you suck at it. The sheets were somewhat clean pillows useless for any support the door locks were from my childhood bedroom that you can pick with a Bobby pin so much more I would need another place to tell about the run down staircase at the main entrance cement cracks everywhere, the cabins were just as bad doors and windows all rotted. WHY HASN'T THE OWNERS SPENT ANY MONEY this used to be a great resort and since there isn't anything between South River and Burks Falls for a weary driver you know you could make this place stellar again. I'M TOTALLY DISGUSTED. You as owners should feel a shame to take money from travellers for a dump like this
