Detailed Reviews
Hotel's Favourite
It is ideally located. I traveled with my two 18-year-old girls, who liked the location because of the restaurants and shops. The walk to the beach was safe, easy, and quaint. We chose not to stay on the beach for mostly economic reasons. However, I was worried that the beachfront could become boring for the girls. The breakfast was a huge factor. It was nice waking up and not having to "research eatery options." Also, the Wi-Fi worked great!
I would definitely stay again because of the price and location. Once on the beach, to the left was Seven Stars and Ritz-Carlton, which had well-maintained buildings, landscaping, and restaurants.

We (a couple in our late 30s) From Canada had a great 9 night stay at Ports of call from Feb 3-12th, 2020. The location is super convenient. It’s only a 5 min walk to the Grace Bay beach (they have a shuttle service if you prefer to be driven) . There are hotel staff at the beach that will help you find you beach chairs , try to get there
Before 10:00 am if you want to get a chair . By around 12.30 people go for lunch and then chairs clear up as well .
There’s a really good selection of local restaurant just walking distance from the resort . Some of our favourite dinner sports were CocoVan, The Landing, Caicos Cafe and Bay Bistro. Skull Cafe and Chicken crack pot were literally next to the resort but if you’re looking for healthy(I.e gluten free , Vegan) options , there weren’t too many options.
The resort itself is super clean and the staff was super friendly . Flo at the reception was the sweetest person you could ever meet , she was so helpful and friendly , she made our day with her
Friendly smile !
Just a heads up though to have the the right expectations for the free breakfast. It’s not a typical continental breakfast spread but you will find a decent selection (eggs, sausage ,bread , butter , 2 types of fruit, 3 types of pastries , cereal , yogurt , oat meal, coffee , tea and juice). If you’re a vegan , the free breakfast will be a challenge .
In terms for meals , dinner for a couple with drinks in the mentioned restaurants were around 100$USD. If you want to be economic , there is a large grocery store where you can grab hot/cold take away meals for around 25USD per couple .
We rented a scooter for half a day (12hrs) from Caicos wheels right at the resort plaza and it was totally worth it . We went to check out the Taylor Bay and Sepodilla Bay and had lunch at the Las Brisas. Would highly recommend this . We also went to the local fish fry on Thursday (8$ per person for the taxi) and it was totally worth it .
We did do parasailing at the Grace bay beach , it was beautiful and would be worth it . We also took the Snorkelling excursion which was around 120USD/pp , this one was NOT worth at all . We could have just walked to the snorkeling spot closer to the gracebay beach and rented snorkeling gear for 10$!
All in all , Ports of call is located at the best possible location you could ask for , if you’re not planning to rent a car . The staff is amazing , the rooms are clean, if you have the right expectations for breakfast and you will have a super memorable vacation !

This is not my first time to rave about Ports of Call Resort. There is a good reason for that. It exceeds my expectations every time I stay there. The reasons are many.
Ports of Call is the best value so near to Grace Bay beach. It is close to everything.
There is nothing you would need to feel pampered and welcomed that the owners, Dale and Wendy Papke, have not thought of. It is landscaped beautifully with a lush tropical feel. It is smaller and more personal. The beds are super comfy with quality linens, the showers have a new waterfall shower head, there is a refrigerator and coffee pot in the room, and a comfortable seating area. My favorite room opens right out onto the pool area with a private patio for morning coffee and to sit outside for lunch. Or you can use the full sized BBQ grill to cook your own.
The staff is the absolute best on Provo. From the friendly and responsive front desk staff—Flo,Fab,Maritine,Jaimie etc, to kitchen hostesses Melomie and Mercedes, to the great crew always around to help—Enorse, Westnor, Julian, Charlotte, Kirk, Jackson-y, Renault, and the great beach guys, Joseph, Marquez and Wesley ( (who gave me rides in the beach wheelchair!)—you are really taken care of like family.
Managers, Tai-Wayne, and Johvain are so great and attentive— just ask and they’ll help!
Watson is the heart of the resort at the bar—it wouldn’t be the same without him!
And then there’s the housekeeping staff starting with Rose. The rooms are cleaned expertly, decorated with flowers that grow by the gardens and smell great after they’re done every day. Paulina and Rose especially make my stay special.
If you have a disability or are recovering from a surgery, Ports of Call has you covered. Not only do they have an ADA room, there is also a beach wheelchair, a shower chair, and a staff willing to assist you in any way. There is also a shuttle to the beach, should you choose not to walk the east distance.
Save money by eating the full breakfast every day at the hotel, and by getting lunches and snacks from the nearby IGA grocery store. Ports of Call even has a shopping cart you can borrow.
Everything you could want to get to is close by which is why Ports of Call is also such a great place to stay.
There are also family apartments and three villas right on the property if you’re coming with family.
Add a coctail party and fun activities weekly and you’ve found the perfect resort in Paradise !!r

I visited last July and never got around to writing the review. I must say that this hotel exceeded my expectations in every single way. The room was impeccably clean, the staff were extremely welcoming & helpful, the other guests were great and friendly, LOVED IT ALL.
It is a short 5 minute walk to the beach and the beach staff were amazing as well. Even if I could afford to stay at the beachfront resorts, there is no reason why I would choose those over Ports of Call. If you're reading these reviews in an attempt to make a decision and are wary of how affordable it looks...you really don't have anything to worry about. You will get a clean room in a hotel with some of the friendliest people and will not regret choosing Ports of Call.
The only "negative" is that the breakfast buffet isn't anything to write home about, but it's definitely not bad. There is a grocery store a short walk away where we bought some jam and bread to make our own breakfast and ate it on the balcony overlooking the pool.
Until next time POC.

Friendly service , especially the males more than the females. Kirk is very friendly. Basic working accommodations, although the rooms are a little bit small. We paid $370 per room in January, so compared to the rest of the island, it is very inexpensive. No bugs in room, which is a big plus. Shower pressure was above average, and shower was hot enough. Hotel breakfast is very decent and included, which is a big plus. Pool is not heated, but was not too cold at all, and our younger children enjoyed it for the small time they used it-not such a big factor since you will probably go to the beach almost every day. They need a game room for the kids, but at least they do have a ping pong table and a pool table. There is a lack of any staff around the pool most of the time, which is a little bit annoying.
The walk to the beach is very easy as it takes about five minutes at most. The hotels area on the beach is beautiful. However the lounges are very basic and not too cushiony. The staff on the beach is helpful. The kayaks, paddle boards, and sailboats are all included and lots of fun. Beach volleyball is there too. The staff will help you with anything you need to enjoy those water sports. The tubing (named the “great big mable raft”) is expensive, as always, but you have to do it with your kids if you are with them. About $40 per head. Separate from the hotel, the taxis are extremely expensive, $16 per head(unless a child is about 6 years of age or younger, which is $5) ; and the restaurants are very expensive, but food is good . If you want to economize, you can buy some groceries from the big supermarket which is conveniently located across the street from the back hotel, and avoid the restaurants for a couple of lunches, or even maybe one dinner.

We loved Ports of Call! From check in with Martime (who made sure we had the pack and play we had requested) to meeting Watson and Rose, everyone was so friendly! I can't remember everyone's names, but so many people at the front desk were so helpful! This was our first big trip with our 14 month old son and we were very anxious about it, but everyone was so wonderful with him! The location and proximity to the beach are perfect and the resort itself is beautifully surrounded by lush vegetation! We loved being across the street from Graceway Gourmet and enjoyed eating at Crackpot Kitchen (soooo good) one night. Our room was always very clean upon our return from our day's activities and we enjoyed meeting other guests at the Manager's Social and other times. We've been home for 4 days and have already recommended Ports of Call to others. We can't wait to return!

We have been to this resort 4 times and will be coming back in March 2020. It is like coming home now - we know the staff and the owners take a serious personal interest in the guests and the resort, which is consistently improved upon. The breakfast has all that one would want; the location is perfect, right across the road from the beach as well as the gourmet grocery and deli. Walking distance to many restaurants and shops.
Restaurants are VERY pricey on the island and it helps to be able to go to the deli across the street and bring your meal back to eat by the pool or on your balcony. There is a BBQ so you can also prepare your own meals. There is a wonderful french bakery behind the resort where one can purchase amazing baguettes to make sandwiches out of daily. The staff are kind and helpful. Considering how expensive this island is, this is the best value one will find. My only objection: the taxes and fees keep going up annually and it is getting to the point where it is becoming prohibitive...I think it is now up to 27% or thereabouts. Government should be given the message that there is a tipping point when a quarter of your hotel cost is tax. We stay for two weeks at a time and the tax / fee amount has become egregious.

+1
This hotel is a tremendous value. The costs are substantially lower than beachfront hotels and there is a free shuttle service to the Grace Bay Beach so you don’t lose anything. You could also walk the 300 yards from the lobby to the beach. Hotel staff are at the beach to provide chairs and equipment. All staff were exceptional. Flo greeted us and bid us a sad farewell eight nights later. The room attendants did an excellent job. We even had a TV repair done in a matter of hours. Wifi is free and strong in the room, lobby, breakfast areas and poolside. There are many Toronto channels on the TV. The pool is the largest of the hotels on Grace Bay Road and is never crowded at any time of day. Breakfast in the hotel is adequate for couples and families. There are lots of pool and patio tables.
We booked directly with the hotel in order to get a ground level room. It cost $20 more per night but we got a poolside walkout to our own terrace where we could enjoy full privacy. Our room had 2 queen beds and a pullout sofa in the living area. The owners have invested heavily in major improvements and they have many return customers whom we met during our stay.
The location is excellent for dining and shopping. You can walk to any shop or restaurant in 20 minutes or less. The hotel is adjacent to the Ports of Call Plaza that has 3 restaurants, shops and Dive Provo for all your water supplies. You are 100 yards from the Graceway Gourmet where you can buy food, beer and wine.

This is the second time we stayed at Ports of Call prior to our dive trip on a liveaboard in Turks and Caicos and my husband and I love everything about this resort. The location is excellent, the rooms are beautiful and the staff is superior. Before I continue I would like to thank Shay for his excellent service as well as Sandy who checked us in. They are both delightful and extremely helpful. The rooms with a pool view and balcony are well worth the cost although I did see a garden view room which is also quite nice depending on your budget. A wonderful breakfast is included and although this resort is not on the beach there is a shuttle that will take you to the beach which is only a couple of minutes away. There is a lovely pool and bar as well, The grocery store is across the street and there are several shops and restaurants within walking distance. A big thank you to Maritime,Tanya, Mercedes, Millaime,Watson and Jacquesony as well as the entire staff.

This was my first time on the island and my mom booked our stay at Ports of Call. What a great decision. The staff was very helpful and friendly. Our room was clean and very comfortable. The bar and pool were so inviting with family activities to choose from. Having breakfast each morning was an added bonus. Everything was fresh and delicious. Coffee, tea, and water all day. At the beach, our chairs and umbrellas were in a great location. Kyle was very helpful they had cold water for us to fill our bottles as well as floats to use in the water. The location of the hotel is perfect for walking distance to many locations. No cabs are really needed unless you have a place to visit. Overall I would highly recommend ports of call!
My one suggestion would bring a shelf for the shower. While it was fine for us I think it would have been helpful to have a shelf in the shower for our toiletries.

Yes, the resort's pool is heated.
1. Confirming we still have a poolside bar! 2 for 1 happy hour is offered from 4:30 - 6:00 pm.
2. Yes – there are three options. Our Deluxe Pool View Balcony Rooms, Deluxe Pool View Terrace Rooms and Garden View Balcony Rooms. Each are equipped with their own table and two chairs. Please do not hesitate to reach out to our reservations department to provide a quote.
Both are lovely islands with beautiful beaches. Marcus85204 is right in the sense that if staying in the 'new downtown' in Aruba, you will have a lot of places to walk to, however, the beach is quite a bit more crowded. Ports of Call is also centrally located and aside from the onsite shopping plaza that has two restaurants, there are 30+ others within walking distance including a grocery store and several shopping plazas. Children enjoy our onsite plaza as it is pirate themed and they tend to love our billiard and ping pong table beside the pool. There's also kayaks included at our beach that can be taken out with a parent. I should mention there are plenty of excursions (horseback riding on the beach, tubing, wakeboarding, snorkelling, jet skiing, etc.). If your family likes adventure, I would highly recommend a day trip to North and Middle Caicos – it's easy! If you are still in the process of deciding, we're happy to share more information based on what you're looking for. Please don't hesitate to contact our reservations office.
Yes, at Royal Turks and Caicos Golf Club which is just one mile down the street.
Rates are currently regulated at $33 for the first one to two passengers and $16.50 for each additional person in your party. I would encourage you to confirm this price with your driver prior. Taxis from the airport are shared in the sense that they will take other travellers staying with us or at nearby properties. They are readily available for you after exiting customs. It's a quick 15-minute drive and Ports of Call tends to be the first stop but if the driver chooses a different route, it would add no more than 10-minutes. By staying at Ports of Call, you have access to what many believe is the best beach (Grace Bay) but there are many others that are definitely worthwhile seeing and unique in their own ways. I would recommend renting a car for one or two days which will allow you ample time to explore other beaches and areas of the island. Since we are centrally located, you can save the cost on paying for a car rental the other days. Parking is included for guests and we have an onsite rental agency that offers discounts to our guests (Caicos Wheels).
