Arrived late evening and stayed here for 2 nights. the owners steve and kirsa sowman were very prompt, welcoming and arranging my stay there. The room and the entire property is really clean, cosy and almost like living in a lush micro forest. Next day steve provided me information with all the local walks, cafes and the broader marlborough region. kirsa booked me for the pelorus mail boat ride which I am so thankful for, it was AWESOME. There is a local walk right behind the hotel up in the mountain, which i didnt get to do but defintely next time i come back wil do it. I say Havelock is the best central place to venture out from and explore both the picton and nelson region. queen charlotte track and drive and all the other tracks and sounds are in comfortable reach. All in all it was a very pleasant stay and both steve and kirsa are super friendly and humble folks.

Stayed there for one night and enjoyed the stay. The location is central and the expansive grounds give an ideal setting. Whilst perfectly functional, the unit seemed somewhat dated. New owners/managers take over in November, so the potential for improvement may be achieved. Very quiet.

After a month of campervanning it finally got to the point that a night in a nice bed was required, and the choice was made... Havelock Gardens. Reasonable price for a studio apartment, very clean and comfortable. The landlady is great value, very welcoming. I'm Glad we stayed here.

We arrived early as we were going on the Pelorus Sounds mail boat. They let us put our bags in our room before going which put our minds at ease about the security of our stuff. Nothing was too much trouble and the room was lovely and clean and had everything we could want. The bed was really comfortable and we were snug and warm. Great value for money
