We decided to book Palm Island for our honeymoon after extensively reading reviews here. We're both well travelled and I've lived in the Caribbean. We have high hopes for our Palm Island trip. If the way Janet has handled our booking is any indication, we...More
For our annual “girls” trip we bought a package for Palm Island. We weren’t exactly sure what to expect, but we were absolutely blown away. Having been to several “all inclusive” resorts before, this one is head and shoulders above. The staff is fabulous. They...More
Just returned from Palm Island Resort and....WOW!! Palm Island has caused me, in my 20+ vacations, to actually write a review. This place has got it figured out. My wife and I (in our mid- 50's) spent eight wonderful nights there. Kudos to the owner,...More

We have mostly had lovely weather. Our first visit was in late March and it was raining the evening we arrived and we had one other rainy day during our 10 day stay. Our other two visits were in December. There was the odd sprinkle, but generally they would be fairly short lived, then the sun would come out again. If you want an ocean front room, then you will want one of the beach front rooms -- either superior (1 -6) or regular (7 - 19), beach front loft 43 or 44, or one of the SeaGrape suites. The palm view rooms and the other three island lofts are set just a bit behind the beach front rooms. Superior Palm View also face the beach but are set just in behind the superior beach front suites but with a clear view to the beach and water. The superior beach front rooms are further back from the water's edge and have been renovated. Beach front rooms 7 - 19 are closer to the water's edge and a somewhat narrower section of beach. None of the accommodations is far from the water, and many of the non beach front suites have views of the ocean. The walk from the palm view rooms to the beach is about 3 minutes. We have stayed in both a regular beach front as well as palm view rooms. All were just fine with us. The palm view rooms are a bit bigger than the regular beach front rooms and include a large tub as well as a shower in the bathroom. Palm view rooms 30 - 33 are a bit larger than palm view 26 - 29 and have room for a small sofa and chair. Hope this information is helpful.

We have been several times of the year and if the weather is nice the swimming is fabulous. One fall vacation was during a tropical storm farther away. We had sunshine on the beach but the storm waves made swimming dangerous. We enjoyed the wave music, our toes in the sand, and swimming in the pool.
We were there in April enjoying a lobster. Lobster restriction season begans in May. Not sure how long the restriction goes on.
