This is one of those places that you’ll remember for the rest of your life. Hiding away from the road, right on the beach, under palm trees and the blue sky this place is the perfect getaway for those that want sand between Their toes and the sound of the ocean in their ears. Purer relaxation is rarely found these... More

Coco Cabanas is a beautiful little place to stay on the beach in between Rio San Juan and Gaspar Hernandez. The hosts, Laurent and his family, are extremely friendly and helpful. The cabanas are large, clean and quaint and located right on a long beach. They have friendly dogs the live at the hotel and neighboring inns that will keep... More

If the beach weren't full of detritus (natural and manmade), the mosquitoes didn't eat us alive from dusk to dawn, and we'd gone during high season, I'd say yes, go. But it was deserted and we felt rather left high and dry, there was little to choose from on the menu which was actually available, the food was good and... More

We just returned from our second visit to Coco Cabanas at Playa Magante on the North Coast of DR. Victoria & Carlos have been joined by Lydia to help them out while Simon the owner is out of the country for a while. Our group enjoyed hanging out, even when the weather was less than ideal. We played dominoes until... More

My boyfriend and I planned our trip to Dominican Republic very last minute. We were looking for something cheap and ocean front. While those don't usually go hand-in-hand we found it at Simon's Coco Cabanas. Simon greeted us at the airport and happily poured us two welcome shots of local rum upon our arrival at the cabanas. His hospitality continued... More

A group of us decided to try something adventurous and stayed at the coco cabanas, one of the best decisions that we have made. Great beach, great host and amazing prices. I would stay there again.

I have just had the most enjoyable vacation ever at the Coco Cabanas. I have been traveling to the Dominican Republic for ten years now and there is no where else I have been where I have felt as comfortable and relaxed. The cabanas are spacious and well appointed and the restaurant and bar provide some of the best and... More

It's a little paradise, located close to a main street and by going towards the beach, using a small dirt road reminded me of the movie "Beach". Simon, the host and the owner is great and went overboard to fulfill our requests. The place was discovered by accident when one of the locals took me there six months ago. For... More

For those of you who remember the play/movie South Pacific, you need to know that there is a place closer than the South Seas that can be your own personal Shangrila. This is such a beautiful place to stay and Simon is a wonderful host. We stayed in one of the upgraded cabanas, which was quite comfortable. The rooms do not have any air conditioning, but the rooms were cool thanks to the fans in the room (1 ceiling and 1 standing). The beach is beautiful and uncrowded, at least when... More
