4 star based on cost of room £65. Room was a little cosy, but clean and everything works. Bed was comfortable and bathroom was spotless with plenty of hot water. Dinner was typical pub quality but inexpensive, the beer was also well kept all in all just fine. I'd stay here again

On arrival, the greeting was fine and very efficient, advised the rooms were situated on the car park I think there are about six rooms, I had one downstairs, first the front door, had gaps door opens and it was like walking into a brown box, old dark furniture, brown wallpaper, old lights, tiny Windows, light brown curtains, not what...

The staff I met were friendly and the service in the restaurant and bar was good. The inn is close to the Thatcham railway station and conveniently located for people travelling by train. The breakfast was OK but that is as far as I would go by way of praise. The 6 or so rooms are located in an old...

Rooms unique and individual with all mod cons albeit on the small size. Friendly staff and location ideal for the station if you need to commute and very close to canal for lovely walk to Newbury. Room not dirty but clean freaks may find the poor detail cleaning below par which is a shame. Bath room in Room 1 no...

I was very disappointed with the quality of the room for the price charged. The room was small the washbasin not fit for purpose and the bed hard and lumpy. We did mention this but it fell on deaf ears.

Arrived at 4pm, quick check in. Stayed in room 5. Nice on arriving- tea facilities/biscuits ect. Room abit dark. Not much light entering. Bathroom facilities ok- shelf at sink was abit wonky things slid off. Bed comfy but didn't get much sleep as the rooms are next to a busy room and train station is across the road so trains...

Lovely old coaching house. The rooms are in an old stable block and are full of character. Quite a bit of noise from trains but that's not their fault, and double glazing etc would spoil the charm of the place. Staff very welcoming and helpful on arrival and throughout. Great value food and drinks and a good breakfast.

Stayed there for a couple of nights with a friend and her mother. The staff were lovely and very helpful and the rooms were quaint but modern and very clean. However it is on a main road and there is a lot of traffic noise, couple with level crossing alarms and noisy drinkers sitting outside in the beer garden. It...

My family organised for a family get-together which included dinner at the Swan. I used to live in the area before I moved away many years ago and this is the 1st time I have retruned since. It was a warm Saturday evening when we arrived and there were a number of customers using the extensive beer garden in the...
