Guacamaya Lodge was an attractive and friendly place, but it was missing some key comfort. The first is the unheated pool with only an old creaky ladder to get in or out. Some stairs, like other pools, would make everyone less embarrassed and feel safer. Also, the very spotty wifi is frustrating. Into the rooms, my problems started with the...

Thank you very much for your review of Villa Ester at the Guacamaya Lodge. It is very important for us to get feedback from our guests, so we have the chance to improve our service. Most times I do not comment, but I feel the need to comment now. We live in the tropics; surrounded by jungle, mangroves, volcanoes, parrots,...

While visiting Junquillal we tried out this beautiful outdoor restaurant for supper and we were so impressed we went back for a second supper. Our server was amazing and had a great sense of humour. The food was absolutely delicious! For anyone in this area it is worth the drive to enjoy a comfortable atmosphere with terrific service and a...

This small lodge was not fancy but has all you need. And a quick 5 minute stroll to a beautiful beach. The grounds were lovely with a good size pool. There was also a fenced in tennis court in great condition! We visited in early March for 2 nights and it never did feel busy even though it was very...

Stayed at the Guacamaya last year at the end of our adventure trip in CR - went back to spend our entire 9 day vacation this year! Totally enjoyed the stay, from the accommodations in the cabanas, to the time around the pool reading (moving around to enjoy the shade), to the assistance in finding a boat for deep sea...

We ate here several times during our stay in Playa Junquillal. We were never disappointed. The food is outstanding. The owners and staff are very friendly and helpful. The drinks from iced tea to mixed drinks and wine were great.

Ate here with my wife, and after trying many restaurants in the Tamarindo area, this was by far the cutest and best meal we had.. everything totally fresh and the Filets are aged by the owner herself.. do no hesitate to check out this restaurant at the lodge for lunch or dinner, plus great paved roads to get to it...

We are so pleased that we picked this lodge for our 7 night getaway. The lodge is family run by a brother and sister...and their cute dog Andy. The room was clean and the entire lodge was very well kept. The restaurant was amazing. Always enjoyed their specials...especially the whole red snapper! We always walked down to the beach for...

We've been coming to Junquillal for four years and on our fifth trip we made our first visit to the restaurant at the Guacamaya Lodge for lunch. Prices are very fair and beer is some of the cheapest in the area. Our nachos were quite good though they didn't include chicken as we had ordered. The grande caprese salad was...

We are very sorry for disappointing you. We strive to provide excellent service to all our clients and it appears, in this case we fell short. I hope you will give us the opportunity to serve you in the future. Again, our apologies.

I've been coming to this area of Costa Rica for 15 years and this hotel is my standby/go to choice when not staying with friends. Great value for the price, super clean and tidy, and the restaurant has consistently good food. Walking distance to Playa Junquillal for swimming, surfing and sunsets is a big plus of course!
