Wow!!! Wonderful welcome and excellent food - what more could you ask for? Lovely menu with a good choice of starters & mains. Unfortunately we didn't have room for a dessert! Will definitely visit again!

Went for a Christmas dinner which we needed to book a table for, and give our choices week before, the food was absolutely delicious, sat near a log fire which was lovely and staff very friendly and efficient service, going again in January.

Had a good Sunday lunch after attending a lovely Christening for my Great Nephew. The food was plentiful and hot and did in fact beat me so I had to leave a small amount. The weather was chilly but sunny so the views were stunning with all the Autumn colours on the trees. Thank you for a lovely afternoon.

The Turnpike was ideally located for our stay while visiting friends. The room was very clean and comfortable. We had snacks late afternoon and then breakfast the following morning...we enjoyed both. We would recommend the Turnpike for both accommodation and food.

Lovely Sunday lunch, burger and lovely gammon and eggs. Very friendly service. Nice and clean, spacious inside not too cramped. I would definitely recommend. Lots of parking and would also be nice to sit outside when it's sunny.

Wholesome local ingredients with a good menu choice for evening meal, definitely recommend steak & ale pie alongside great cask ales and well cooked English breakfast. Stayed here overnight on a Friday in mid-April. We arrived to find notices posted that "we've got the builders in" - there was no mention of this on the website nor at the time of booking, and we really should have been told this, which would have given us the option to cancel. The fairly large dining room to the...

The Inn itself is a quaint place and has a stunning view of the Moors and the Dam. We opted for the Duvet & Dine and at £120 which included £40 towards an Evening meal & £15 towards a bottle of plonk we didn't think it was to bad a deal. The staff were very friendly and after booking in...
