We had stopped off at The Board Inn last Year on our way to the Magpie Cafe in Whitby. We were so impressed by the cheese selection that we decidedly to swerve the Magpie (almost an Easter pilgrimage for us) and have Easter Sunday lunch at the Board Inn and what a treat it was. Great selection of starters and...

Some friends and I stayed here recently for a sewing retreat and had an absolutely wonderful time! The Board Inn is quaint and Karen is the happiest and most accommodating Inn Keeper I have ever seen! She went above and beyond to make sure we were taken care of. The food was a pleasant surprise. Everything was fresh and local...

We visited the Board Inn today for lunch and was well impressed. The turkey was delicious, hot with plenty of vegetables. I could have done with a smaller portion but the grand-dog was happy when we took a doggy bag back for him. We're all looking forward to a birthday celebration meal on Thursday night.

A cold but bright day saw us out walking with a mission to visit the Board and its beer festival. Very good selection of beers and the offer to sip before purchase, excellent! Not a large selection but the friendly atmosphere, good staff makes the trip worth while, I should also mention the excellent sandwiches.

Came here for lunch. The food was very good, the staff very friendly and obviously it's a beautiful location. We're staying in Whitby and I'd recommend anyone visitig the Esk Dale villages from there to take the train (the normal service route rather than the steam one). It's such a scenic ride

We ended up at Lealholm after been detoured on the way to Whitby. Decided to stay for lunch after a little walk around and a giggle over the stepping stones. We went for a well earned drink at the Board inn, and then decided to have Sunday lunch. So glad we decided too. It has to be the best lunch...

We stayed in the area for a few days and ate here once plus came in for drinks another 2 times. Really beautiful location right by the river and a quaint stone bridge. Pub is a very welcoming place, friendly staff, good service and all nicely presented. The food is locally sourced; there is a blackboard telling you where all...

We stayed one night dinner, bed and breakfast. Nothing was too much trouble to make our stay comfortable and special. Food was excellent. Location very picturesque even in winter. I guess this is the ideal walkers' stopping place and 'watering hole'. Envious that the locals have such a good hostelry for Real Ale and great food.
