We really enjoyed our short stay in this lovely cottage. It is very handy to Matakana village but lovely and quiet. The cottage was very clean and comfortable and beautifully decorated. The hosts were very friendly and helpful and many little extras were available like a delicious breakfast basket, fruit bowl, videos, CD's, magazines etc. The outdoor area was really...

We had the opportunity to escape Auckland for a weekend and visit some of the nearby wineries. We stayed in the lovely chalet adjoining the main house and found it to be perfect for our requirements. Friendly, knowledgeable hosts, clean and comfortable accommodation, well appointed and a bonus breakfast basket too. Will definitely stay again when we next visit the...

My husband and I stayed here for a weekend escape. The cottage was beautifully set up and private. It was also a fantastic location, being a seven minute walk into the heart of the village. I had some difficulty getting hold of Neville initially to arrange the booking, but once the ball got rolling Neville was friendly and helpful. Would...

Stayed in the Cottage which is two bedrooms, and lots big enough when friends visited. The unit is spacious and the back is amazing - quiet, tranquil, and bordering on woods with fruit trees. It's so close to town that we always walked.

We liked it so much that we went back again, and enjoyed it just as much as the first time. It is so homely but all the while rather chic. It is so close to amenities but offers up good privacy. Warm and comfortable. Would recommend to anyone.

This was simply a delightful place to stay. From the moment Neville and Margaret welcomed us we knew this would be a place that would receive an excellent rating from us. The Chalet was tastefully appointed with everything we needed, including a lounge/kitchen area, generous sized bathroom and comfortable bedroom (and bed). It is located a little over five minutes...

What a beautiful, clean, quiet, lovely peaceful sanctuary! Thank you Neville and Margaret for the breakfast, the warm fire and the most well appointed lovely home! The two large bedrooms were great for us, the lounge, kitchen and really the whole cottage just felt like home! Will definitely be back!

Great place to stay. Lovely surroundings and great hospitality. Breakfast basket a lovely gesture. Hosts extremely friendly and are prepared to step outside the circle to ensure that your stay is a memorable one. I would definitely recommend a stay here. The native birds at the back door are an added bonus. Close to town and in a good situation...

We stayed for the Pat Benatar concert for 2 nights for $380 cash. Neville was wonderful to deal with, gave us a ride to the concert. We arrived back to find a basket full of fruit, eggs, loaf of local bread, cereal, yoghurt already for breakfast the next morning, Matakana Cottage is 2 bedroom and the room we had the...
