Stayed the weekend with my two children (8YO and 6MO) and mother. We had a great stay. Hotel is lovely, very clean and had the most welcoming employees. We used it as a base to visit Old Trafford. The pool and facilities were great for the kids. Would highly recommend and look forward to visiting again.
We had a long lost family get together in The Grill. Harry was a perfect host for us, going the extra mile to make it a special occasion - table cloths, discrete spot for the 11 of us and was on hand to make the emotional meeting very special indeed. The food was awesome, and as regulars we've become accustomed to the excellence and quality that is always delivered. Really can't fault the experience. Thank you Harry.
We chose to stay at the Marriott Worsley Park to celebrate my 30th Birthday, in Manchester. We called the hotel before to ensure they could cater for my dairy & egg allergy. The staff were accommodating and guided us through the options available during our stay. On arrival, at check-in, the reception staff advised us there was a note on the booking about the allergy and that they would remind the restaurant. Within 30min, we were called into the room, to check that everything was as expected in our room & to confirm the allergy and dietary requirements. The following morning at breakfast, we were greeted by Apple. She advised our breakfast was being prepared & would be bought to the table to avoid cross-contamination. The two chefs were really friendly and understood the concerns guests with allergies have about their meals. We received the same level of service the following day too. The room was clean & great for our weekend getaway. It was no more than 20 min drive from key attraction points of Manchester. We used the pool, sauna & jacuzzi; quite basic but nice for short relaxation. Thank you for making our stay at Worsley Park comfortable & for the continuing faith we have in the Marriott brand.…
Really nice weekend stay whilst seeing family. Rooms nice but a bit warm at night. Good food and breakfast choices good with excellent buffet including gluten free options. Easy for motorway but still quiet and restful. 2 electric car chargers for guests. Small issue with my spa treatment as the manicure was pretty poor and not worth having done. It was only an express one but nails filed very ineffectively (danger of splitting my short nails as doing incorrectly) and no cuticle care or shaping of nails. Staff needs more training. Otherwise all good.
In a nice setting and close to the motorway one of the draws of this hotel was the swimming pool. So we paid a little more than we would have paid elsewhere to get this facility... only to find when we arrived that it was closed for maintenance. Not what you need after a 5 hour journey. The room was large, quiet and comfortable with good facilities on the ground floor with a quiet view of the garden. There would have been nice walks but it was snowing! The bed was very comfortable with a choice of pillows. The bar meals were good quality and not too pricey and the breakfast had a reasonable amount of choice but it should at the price.
Myself and my partner attended at this hotel for one night only. We had a delux King room, and the images on the website for it is exactly as it looks. We had a view of a small courtyard. The room was small but was all that we needed. THERE ARE NO USB PORTS. I know that’s a small ask however we noticed that straight away and assuming they’d have them we didn’t bring any plugs. So a little upgrade there. I found that I was quite cold in the room, however my partner had no complaints with that. The Internet wasn’t the best and neither was the signal. The TV had YouTube but that forever buffered. The tv did have normal channels so we settled on that. The whole room was clean and tidy, the bathroom was immaculate. All in all I would stay again i was really pleased with it.
We had a fantastic New Year's Day stay, treated so well by staff and upgraded to a beautiful room with some extra touches as we are returning guests. We really appreciated the effort and extra touches. Wonderfully relaxing, great room service and great breakfast, espescially appreciate the decaf beans option on the coffee machine 👍😊Thanks again, we will be back!
Disappointing stay caused by large queues for breakfast due to hotel reserving large number of tables for visiting football team in main dining area, instead of in a separate room, which front of desk said was usual practice. Restaurant 60 cover s short as a result, as team arrived and ate in dribs and drabs. Had to rush our own breakfast as a result, and no hot drinks due to queue. Queue of around 20 people when we left. Informed duty manager to take a look but didn't seem that concerned. Will definitely not be only guests frustrated at this! Need to look at hotels breakfast planning and maybe a time slot mechanism.
We decided to have four nights in an hotel over Christmas visiting friends and family around Manchester. We chose the Worsley Marriot as we were booked into Worsley Old Hall for a Christmas Eve lunch so did not want to drive. The Marriot was superb, really great. Every one of the staff were friendly and lovely. Such a nice feeling in the hotel. The hotel is ideally positioned near the Motorway and RHS Bridgewater. Our room overlooking the golf course was comfortable and quiet. Good bed and pillows, tea coffee, safe TV etc. Unfortunately we were only able to have one meal in the Cast Iron Grill restaurant (had to visit family and friends) which was also excellent. We were even visited by Father Christmas from the hotel, very thoughtful. We love this Hotel and will visit again.
The Marriott was chosen as the venue for my son's wedding and to be quite honest, no faults at all. The only one was that the hotel could have saved some money by turning down the heating slightly, but in fairness, we had just come out of a very cold snap that had seen overnight outside temperatures suddenly swing from -5C degrees to +7C. Everywhere in the hotel was clean and well-maintained, the only niggle being the gents' loo into the later part of the evening, but in fairness, I would not expect someone on hand to clear up hand-drying paper towels at 10.30 in the evening. There is a certain responsibility on guests themselves to not only "point correctly" but place the paper towels in the bin! Staff were wonderful, friendly and helpful. Only a couple of them on reception at peak times (it is quite a big hotel) but nevertheless very efficient. A little bit of fiffing and faffing to get an early check-in for the "father of the groom" (me) but in fairness, with the 12pm check out, were I not there for the wedding, I find that a very agreeable check-out time under normal circumstances. They did manage to get me installed in a room for 1.15pm, which was very helpful, and I thank the hotel. The room was very comfortable and extremely clean. It is generally hard to sleep during a one-night stay in a strange bed, but it was very comfortable indeed, so a good night's sleep was obtained. And I have to add, very quiet in the hotel corridors! Breakfast was exceptional! All the hot food was cooked to perfection, somewhat doing great restorative work in the faith of the hotel breakfast. All piping not, nil grease and incredible, if not the best-poached breakfast eggs ever, beaten only by the Traders Hotel in Kuala Lumpar some 7 years ago! I also noted that the scrambled eggs weren't runny and tired, the toaster made perfect toast (not one of those rotary affairs where you have to put the slice of bread through at least 20 times before it even warms up). I'm not a coffee drinker myself, but my rather epicurean sister-in law, well acquainted with Michelin Star food, claimed it was the best in years! My own second-helping was a return to the food bar for of all things, some fruit salad. Exceptional. A little confused with the third-party booking sites - there are so many of them all offering the same deal, determined to earn money out of the public. I had booked a two-night stay with one of the plethora of hotel booking sites, but had to change it to one night. There was no way of doing this with the third-party site, because you simply cannot get hold of a human being, and the hotel itself couldn't override the booking. So, I cancelled the original booking only to find they had no rooms available. However, then checking with the hotel, I was surprised to find that their own price was £27 more expensive than the other booking site is used, as it had rooms showing as available. And that doesn't take into account the commission the Marriott pays the booking site! I found this all rather bizarre. I have to confess I do have an issue with hotels.com, trivago, ebookers and Expedia all offering rooms at an identical price, as these brands are all owned by Expedia, which means Expedia is actually in competition with itself, which is totally unnecessary and somewhat, in my opinion, very dishonest. However, this is nothing to do with Marriott. However, well done Marriott. You should be proud. And when the boys (aged 12 to 27) from our party saw the Sheffield United team players checking in (as we checked out) for their match with Wigan Athletic later that evening, they were chuffed with grabbing autographs - me, I know absolutely nothing about football, so this went all over my head. …
