Conchal Hotel is celebrated for its pristine condition, as guests have lauded the meticulous upkeep of both the rooms and the grounds. The inviting atmosphere and comfortable, vibrant rooms add to the charm, though light sleepers might take issue with noise. Its location near the beach and amenities, including a car rental service, is a definite perk, despite potential disturbances.
Guests appreciate the value it provides, striking a balance between affordability and quality, although some find the food prices a tad steep. The staff's exceptional service enhances the hotel's appeal, and the amenities, such as the beach proximity, complimentary breakfast, live music, and wildlife experiences, receive positive mentions.

What a lovely stay. This small hotel is only a 5 min walk from Playa Brasilito and 15 from Playa Conchal. It is charming with an artists touch and the customer service was on point.
Excellent parking ( we had a car rental) and there was a guard on duty all evening.
The room was ground level, tucked in a lovely quiet corner. Kingsized bed, full sized toiletries, safe in the room, plenty of luggage storage and a fridge.
The ground maintenance is impeccable and the evening lighting was inviting to sit by the quiet pool at the end of a long beach day.
There is coffee and fresh water at the ready in Papaya restaurant for guests and there is always someone around to ask questions to.
The room included breakfast, a full service breakfast, freshly prepared.
The front desk will also provide sarongs for the day.
They were a great source of information and the online communication before arrival was fantastic.
We loved it here and will dream of coming back.

The staff is very helpful and extraordinarily friendly. They treat you like family.
Restaurant Breakfast at the attached restaurant is included. We ate there every morning and the food was so good that we came back a few times for drinks, lunch, and dinner when we had a long day of activities. Food/drinks were a little on the pricy side but not out of the norm for this area of Guanacaste. They have a BOGO happy hour for drinks as well, so planning ahead can help save money.
Property There was plenty of parking for all guests with rental cars. The property, landscaping, pool, and pool area was nicely maintained and clean. We had a few special guests for breakfast. Birds and iguanas were a regular sighting in the trees and railings surrounding the restaurant from your breakfast table, but they were never a problem.
Rooms The rooms were clean and housekeeping replaced towels daily. We borrowed beach towels from the front desk. Shampoo, body wash, and hand soap was provided in our room as well. I saw some reviews that the hotel could use updating to the bathrooms as they’re outdated. I don’t agree with those reviews, they are terracotta mission style tiles and seemed in good shape. Everything was functional and clean.
My only complaints are: The air conditioning unit in our room vibrated loudly. I am a light sleeper and don’t like any noise, so this may not be a problem for most people (my husband slept fine) but I couldn’t sleep if it was on so I let it cool off the room then turned it off when i went to sleep and left the ceiling fan on. The room stayed cool enough at night if the bathroom door was closed.
The bathroom sink was very small and use of the sink was made slightly inconvenient by the glass shelf directly above the sink.
This isn’t a 5 star resort and you’re not paying 5 star resort prices, but I think the value for price and staff was exceptional.

After a week of action packed touring around CR, my son and I booked 6 nights at this small, boutique tropical oasis, loaded with iguanas, colourful birds and groups of howler monkeys! Highly recommend! At first we weren’t sure how we’d pass the time, but quickly settled into beach life. Everyday starts with a generous full breakfast (plates of fresh fruit, breads, fresh jams, unlimited cereal, hot coconut pancakes, typical or omelet, with unlimited delicious dark roast coffee (the best we tasted of our 4 hotels). All served by Donald who has become like family (we miss you Donald!). The hotel is a very short walk to Conchal beach and a 10 min cab ride to Flamingo beach- both cream white sand beaches. The Papaya restaurant at the hotel serves excellent seafood and thin crust pizza- still dreaming of the grilled lobster salad. But there are many excellent, less expensive restaurants within a few steps of the beach & hotel. Try to get a room by the pool if you can. We were tucked behind as we were told no pool view rooms available during our stay. Stay here and save yourself $800/nt vs resorts within 5min walk. You won’t regret it!

Hotel Conchal offers a unique experience in a paradisiacal setting. Although the lack of grab bars in the bathrooms and pool area may be an inconvenience for some, the rooms, with their cozy decoration, provide the perfect setting to relax and unwind. Additionally, the hotel restaurant offers a delicious culinary experience. With a privileged location near the beach, Hotel Conchal is the ideal choice for those looking to enjoy the natural beauty of Guanacaste and savor authentic local cuisine.

There were so many details that made this little hotel a gem! The owner was so kind and treats you like family! She gave us towels to explore nearby beaches, they reheated our pizza lunch leftovers for dinner, the guacamole was fresh, etc. The restaurant was so good. Monkeys and iguanas entertained us while we dined. The room is very basic, but clean! Conchal beach is within walking distance and is beautiful. Get yourself a tamarindo margarita during happy hour- 2 for 1 drinks from 2-6. Definitely take the time to go to Minas beach and bring a snorkel!

My CV and I have the best memory of our stay at the Hotel Conchal Brasilito, especially because of the quality of the service, both friendly and professional. Attention to detail is also reflected in the attention to room cleaning and exterior design. The cuisine was tasty and the quantities, hearty. In short, you will not find better value for money in the area! We recommend this place without reservation!

This is probably the 3rd best hotel in Brasilito Beach, a great value for $135/night for the "Honeymoon Suite", but some rooms are as low as $60! The only two nicer options are the Westin and the W, but those will cost $400-800+/night! Very friendly staff, and amazing "Tipico" breakfast(included) with wonderful wildlife as dining companions. Coffee and Tea free all day long.
The "Honeymoon" suite isn't anything extraordinary, its one of the larger rooms with a small balcony. The room was clean overall and spacious for two people. Fridge and air conditioning worked well. The king sized bed was okay, its about time to replace as some sections you can feel the springs. The bathroom however could use a remodel, it felt very old. The first night rained heavily, so there were an uncomfortable number of large ants in the bathroom and a few in the main room. I know indoor bugs are normal for Costa Rica and we had tiny ants at our prior hotel, but these were big! Fortunately the following two nights, only a few big ants showed up.
This is best option for staying close to Conchal Beach(great snorkeling!) without bankrupting yourself.

The positives...the room and bed were big. Bed was comfortable. Good location in terms of proximity to the beach.
Negatives...proximity to a major road. Constant motorcycle, truck and vehicle noise. My room was a bit farther form the street and still bad. I feel bad for those with rooms even closer to the street. Noise doesn't really slow down even after 10 or 11 pm. Also had some parking area right above the bathroom window. Lots of noise from over there including someone hammering and singing while doing it at 8am in the morning. And bathroom has little privacy with a hanky little thing "covering" the window you can see right through.
Also I asked what I think was the owner about going to Playa Conchal. Directions were very unclear and she basically tried to steer me away from going and just going to the local beach. Luckily some locals directed me to Conchal (you know the name of the hotel and all lol). Playa Conchal is a world class beach. Looks like the Caribbean in the Pacific. Nothing wrong with the local beach, but it's not a beach you would travel from another country to see. Why she would say this is beyond me. Very odd.
Also had quite a few rude interactions including two staff members who went right in front of me and took the last of the milk I was going to use for coffee for their cereal. Then just looked at me awkwardly...not as much as an apology or saying we will get more. Shouldn't staff be eating at separate times in a separate area anyway? Very odd and unprofessional.
Donald however was awesome. The rest of the staff including the owner needs to take customer service lessons from him.
Would not return and don't recommend unless street noise doesn't bother you.

They have live music there some nights, which can make trying to sleep early if you are jet lagged a challenge but on the plus side the music is really really good. So is the food, the breakfast gives you an option for freshly cooked course as well as a buffet of the usual things like fruit & cereals.
The room was good size, the TV in our room was a bit on the small side but you spend so little time in your room whats the point of watching TV? The staff are very very kind, Augustine was especially friendly.
The location is really useful, but I would recommend the location more for people who are renting a car, it makes it easier to get around as in some places the pavement is non-existent.

Hi yes there is sometimes some road noise, particularly in those units closest to the street. Remember that Conchal is often rated as o of the best beaches in the world and this draws visitors, although most guests have no issue with excess noise.

Driving on the beach is prohibited by Costa Rica law. As previously mentioned you can drive to Brasilito (about 1 minute) and park, and then walk to Conchal, or simply walk from the hotel (around 10 to 15 minutes). Most of the walk is along Brasilito Beach.
