Only 15 minutes from Tadoussac, this holiday resort located on a family farm is known for its many species of animals, such as buffalo, wolves, moose; its natural environment over 700 acres facing the magnificent Fjord of Saguenay; the wide range of accommodations such as camping, yurt, teepee, motel, chalet; its country table; and four-season activities such as sea-kayaking, quad, biking, horse riding, dog sledding, snowmobiling, snowshoeing, and the only sugar shack in the region.
We lodged on the site, near the pool. The unit of two rooms was clean but lots of things are just needing care. The screens are falling down in the unit so the flies ,and there are a lot, are everywhere. The furniture is old and need to be replaced. Toiletries and towels are very basic. But really the worst is the wild animals they keep in too small cages. Wolves, lynx, deers, ducks they look really miserable and stressed in their too small quarters. That broke the heart of our whole family. We won’t be back.

We enjoyed our stay so much that we are already planning our second visit, hopefully next summer! Our children loved feeding and interacting with all of the animals. Nevermind the fact that they saw an incredible amount of whales this trip, they were more interested in the farm’s animal tour! Our three bedroom cabin with pull out couch was more than comfortable. The full kitchen made it so that we were able to feed our picky children with ease. An extra thank you to the kind girl who showed our eager children around two mornings in a row. It’s an experience that they are eager to share with their classmates.

Friendly reception. Cosy little chalet by the fjord, clean and comfortable with kitchenette in the living room and appliances. Problem with water supply in toilet when we arrived was quickly resolved by the owners. Would stay there again.

We went to Tadoussac to see Canada nature at its best - but I still like some comfort and camping was not an option. This place is great - much closer to the woods and animals than busy Tadoussac (15 min away) with very comfy cottages. We liked the passion of the straff for animals (and there are plenty on site with great free tours aevery morning to feed them). We have fun activitites - kayaking in the fjord at sunset is a blast (even if we did not see any belugas) and whale watching - this time we were lucky - there were dozens of all sorts of whales. Great home made breakfast too (pancakes and jams or myple syrup). Great spot.

Very nice family activity and nice chalets. The food included is very good, tasty wild meat and good brunch on mornings. The chalets are causy and enjoyables. There is a kids presentation of animals on the morning and also you can visit like in a zoo.

We arrived right after the summer break ended, so the whole chalet was very quiet. It was good place for detox, we got a chalet near the bison area (but there was no bison which was weird) and overlook a river and more forest. I love how i was so out of touch with civilisation. It was a good clean break. The cabin i stayed was really clean and was impressed that the bathroom although it was tiny, was so clean and well equipped with hot water. We made a small fire next to the cabin and spent hours stargazing. Breath taking. Their farm is cute and by cute i mean, not that great for me to be really excited about. Maybe for kids yes. Cause i wasnt too excited about caged animals. Memorable one was the most foul smelling goat near Zelda the Lynx cat. Customer service was amazing still. We missed breakfast hour but they were happy to provide us hot cup of coffees and yoghurt and fruits. :)…

Hello, first, thanks for your comment. Buffalos are in a very large park, and it might be impossible to watch them during the day. In the evening, you can see all of them next to the fence. We are happy that you’ve enjoyed you cabin, maybe you can try a different type of accommodation next time ;). Yes we have caged animal, because we can not put them in the wildlife. They are too humanized, and the might be killed by hunters and be too closed from humans if they will be released. Hope to see you again and this time, you will have the occasion to take our typical breakfast !

Had a lovely two room suite.. with French doors with a beautiful view of the mountains. The suite was well equipped with dishes, fridge, comfy beds and a fireplace (electric) but the ambiance was just like a real one. We did the whale cruise and our guides worked really hard and found us some magnificent whales.. We did a quad ride.. and although fun.. the brochure said it would include a stunning view of the Fjords.. we did not get to see that.. so that was a little disappointing.

Hello and thanks for your comment. We are happy that you’ve enjoyed your stay. September is the best time to watch many whales such as blue whales or humpback whales. What type of quad ride did you choose, normally all of our rides take at least one view on the fjord, we are sorry that was not the case. Hope to see you next time in our site.

Before I even get to our experience, which was wonderful, I want to throw in my 2 cents regarding some of the criticisms regarding the accommodations, the food, and the living space for the animals. As far as the accommodations go, there is a range of comfort level, from yurts up to quite spacious chalet rooms. When the owners suggest that some of the choices are a throwback to the old days (the trapper's camp we stayed in one night is an example I can certify), they're not kidding. The trapper's camp has electricity, but is otherwise left more or less as it was. It's a great experience...if that's what you expect. I assume the ancestral home is something similar. It may not be totally clear from the website so I would ask when you book what exactly your room is like so you aren't surprised. Evening meals were "home-cooked" and (we thought) quite tasty. We loved breakfast, especially the delicious fresh-baked chocolate chip muffins. The dining room is really what you'd expect on... a farm! I think so people come expecting a grand hotel with a petting zoo attached. This is first and foremost a farm converted into an animal rescue centre, with tourist accommodation attached. As for the animals and the space allotted, I think some of the critics need to listen to the stories of how some of these animals came to them, and what this family is doing to provide economically viable shelter and care for animals that come to them in dire shape. Some of the animal lovers who think the pens are small have their hearts in the right place but seem to think money is no object. Well, this is a single family working wonders on a budget. We did not see any animals in any state of stress, and the pens were not confining. Certainly the living spaces were larger than what similar or same-species animals have at a county-financed wildlife center near where we live. That all said, we thought the ferme 5 etoiles was a wonderful experience, especially for our 8 year old daughter. She loved seeing all the animals, especially the wolves and the lynx. Outside our room we saw the female moose at the bottom of the hill our first night, and the huge red buck 20 feet away out of another window. Our room itself (number 24) was charming, very spacious, and very clean. Wifi exists, but was slow -- however, it was enough for the basics. The farm offers sea kayaking which is an absolute must -- and just to be clear, absolutely safe. The shortest excursion is a pretty gentle paddle. The sunset view on the fjord is amazing. And they offered a choice of companies offering whale-watching. We loved the ferme 5 etoiles. Everybody working on the farm was warm, eager to make our experience special. We had a great time.…

Hello, thanks for your comment which is very constructed. At this time, we are improving our website so that it has as much informations as possible about our accommodations and other activities. All of our food is home cooking actually and the breakfast are typically Canadian breakfast. Concerning the animal, what you’ve said goes straight to our heart. We are very happy to see that you and your family have appreciated ou vacation resort. We hope to see you maybe during the winter season, so you can try our winter activities :)

The accommodations were somewhat rustic but clean and very comfortable. The food was good home cooking with all fresh ingredients, very well done. Our package included a whale watching excursion from Tadoussac which was somewhat disappointing, few whales but the tour crew was great, you always take a chance on any watching adventure. The encounter with Wolves at Ferme 5 Etoiles was a trip highlight. Any nature lover should experience the up close and personal meeting with Luna and Jacob. The staff was extremely friendly and went out of their way to make you feel welcomed and appreciated. It is truly a 5 star destination.

Hello, and thanks for your comment. We are happy that you’ve enjoyed your stay. Whales are normally numerous in the St. Lawrence at this time of the year, but maybe the food was not here during these days, it’s always a surprise with wildlife :). The encounter with wolves is one of our best activities, we are maybe the only one company in Quebec to do this. Hope to see you soon, maybe during the winter season :).

We would highly recommend a guided tour of the fjord with this company. They offer professional gear and equipment and the guides are helpful. Our group ranged from 11 to 67 yrs old and everyone had a blast. Fun activity for the whole family!
