-AVIS IMPORTANT - DEPUIS 2020 -IMPORTANT NOTICE - SINCE 2020 ÉTABLISSEMENT SANS-CONTACT CONTACTLESS ESTABLISHMENT SYSTEME DE CODE , ENVOYER AUX CLIENTS CODE SYSTEM, SEND TO CUSTOMERS The Motel la Maison de Travers is located at Baie Ste Catherine, near the "Whales Paradise"only 4 km from the Fiord du Saguenay, near Tadoussac. The house is on the mountain side. It offers spacious, well decorated and comfortable rooms, each with a private bathroom, frigo, TV, wi-fi, air climatise. You will appreciate the motels, situated far from the road, where you will also rest in tranquillity, admiring the sunset from your room or outside in front of the fire.
The room was a good size, clean , included a refrigerator, free Wi-Fi. The bed was comfortable, we were in room#16, which is the furthest room. The motel was not full , imagine in this case they try to maximise the distance between occupied rooms. As a previous reviewer mentioned it was a bit outside of Baie Ste Catherine about 5minutes by car to the Ferry or to several restaurants! The front desk hours are posted but two telephone numbers to call.I was outside the hours but someone answered the phone and was there in two minutes. Friendly staff! If I ever returned would certainly consider staying here again

slightly outside the village itself, but the biggest problem was that when you ask for a room with two beds you get a normal bed and a sofa that's so horrible you end up sleeping on the floor, also a very very noisy fridge in the room; the bathroom was not very good either, you have to keep your fingers crossed, hoping the water will eventually leave the tub. the part of the window you can open is very small, and the curtain is too small to adequately ensure privacy. I found it very expensive for what it has to offer. At least it was clean

There are not many hotels in Baie Sainte-Catherine to begin with (if I ever go back to the area again, will try to stay in Tadoussac, which is a larger and much prettier town), and this one had decent reviews with a great price. There are not many pictures of the motel so we didn’t know what to expect. The motel is a typical upcountry-style bungalow with 20 or so rooms in one row. The building is located further to the back of the property (the office is in the front), so it’s not near the road and offer no river views (even though the road runs along the river). It has one service room with microwave, coffee machine (coffee not provided, so you need to bring your own cups), toaster, a few tables and chairs and that was about it. The big disappointment was they didn’t have running water in that room (the only water – hot – you could get was through the coffee machine), so it’s difficult to make your own breakfast or clean-up. There were also many flies flying around. The best part of this motel is the cleanliness though. We didn’t expect a low cost motel to be this clean (with good bed, large washroom). This is ideal if you want just a clean place to stay overnight (out and about during the day) and save some money.…

It's a motel, so you can't expect big luxury. However, la maison the travers is one of the cleanest I ever stayed in! When I opened the door of my room there was the Wow element! The room is very well maintained and cosy! Also the staff is a bliss! Very warm and welcoming! Guests should be aware that they don't have the restaurant anymore so I suggest they bring some food, at least for breakfast. There's a kitchen available to warm the food up, and a fridge in the room.

We stayed for a night to do a whale watching except weird check-in/check-out hours I don't have any complaints. Very friendly welcome as we checked-in close to midnight and at this time it is hard to find even opened gas station around.

Overpriced for the quality. No hair dryer, no clock or phone in room, no ice, terrible wi-fi. It was clean, newly renovated but the beds were hard. The higher the room number, the longer the walk from the parking lot. The reception is a distance from the motel rooms and communication was somewhat problematic. We didn't understand the the rudimentary breakfast was available only until 9AM and since we had no clock in the room, we missed even that. Look for another option.

We stayed for 2 nights with friends and family. The rooms were very clean, comfy and quiet location; the owners are very nice people that gave us recommendations for our stay. Worth the money! I would go back to this hotel and I already recommended to others!

We stayed here for 2 days with our children. The rooms were clean. There was a grassy area in front of the rooms where kids could play in. Of course the comforts found in a big hotel was lacking-but if you are looking for a clean room to stay in, can eat out/bring in food this is the place to be. The lady who checked us in, spoke no English, but was very friendly.

We stayed at this hotel for one night. When you drive in and see the hotel from the outside it looks old, however the room we had had been remodeled the bathroom was new the matress was new the floors are laminate not rugs wich I prefer and very clean. They do not offer breakfast but they have a fridge in the room and also a common room with a coffee machine (Kuerig) and microwave so you can make do.(in Baie St-Catherine very limitted grocerie store think ahead) The pizza restaurant had a limitted menu but good pizza . This is not a 5 star, but the warmth of the owners and the quiet location makes it a good stay, For kids there is a mini farm with a horse and little goats, and we also saw wild rabbits. The hotel can also make arrangement for whale tours a must in this region. I would go back to this hotel.…
