I would definitely recommend this accommodation to anyone looking for a good budget option while traveling through Scotland. Staff are friendly and check-in process was easy. Rooms are spacious and have all necessary facilities, and the self-service kitchen is large and well-equipped. Perfect respite during our camping holiday around Scotland.

Hostels are expensive in Scotland, but at this one we were able to get a private room for the same price we've paid for shared accommodation elsewhere. Everyone stays in little connected cottages which have the basics: a bed, an ensuite bathroom (with a good shower), a desk and a chair. That's more than you get in some hostels. It...

Ok well after reading other reviews I was a bit nervous. We usually camp but our 9yo daughter has vetoed that now so our compromise was a micro-lodge here. We originally booked a hobbit house but the lodge worked out a bit cheaper. Positives first- the microlodge was bigger than I thought inside and was clean and warm. Beds were...

I luckily didn't meet the owner but was passed the phone to speak with him when I complained there was no TV in our room. It states clearly on the website that all rooms come with tv, books and games. We had none of these and it was considered a deluxe room. I asked for a discount and was told...

As a family we hadn't had much experience of hostels. Glad to say it turned out to be a good choice for us. The room for 5 (and when can you get THAT in a standard hotel?) was nice and spacious, with a large and clean ensuite bathroom, and the kitchen facilities were excellent and saved us a heap of...

The hostel is the real monster of the lake! All spaces are dirty and not well maintained. The room was spacious but not so clean. Noisy and very cold. At our arrival the cover on the bed was completely wet! The host was not so kind at our arrival, providing us with only minimum information (answering after question). Despite the...

After travelling around Europe many years, it is clearly the worst place. a) too dirty, b) shared kitchen where anyone has to clean (you can imagine how), c) no one in reception, you have to call each time to owners mobile, d) bed are awful, e) photos are tricky compared with reality, f) Internet, well in a shared hall, sometimes....

We were a group of 4 that showed up for our reservation however we were booked for 5 people. When my friend entered the office the proprietor said to him 'you know what your getting right'. Which immediately set off a signal, and then he insisted on cash payment. We had booked for 5 people, and the booking said the...

Stayed at this hostel during a Glen Affric / Glen Cannich walking weekend. The twin accommodation that I'd booked for a single night was fine; we were two in a room that could sleep 5 (two bunks; one double bed, one single). The facility was nice -- kitchen / lounge in a separate building, an ensuite in our room, and...
