Alain and Michelle were so welcoming and helpful with anything we needed. We ate in the chateau one evening and they were so attentive. A really fabulous place to stay! We stayed in a room overlooking the rear of the chateau and the views were fantastic with breathtaking views of the sunset!

We stayed there with the husband and two children for one night and loved it. Alain and Michelle are charming. We were lucky not to have other guests at this time or we have not noticed them, so received all attention :) Thank you to Michelle for her home made yogurt and Alain for valuable recommendations with respect to sightseeing....

Written by an Australian traveling the South of France, this Chateau is wonderful. It is a very old Chateau that provides bed and breakfast by very attentive and charming host and hostess, Alain and Michelle. Accommodation is charming, provides all one needs and is excellent for this part of France, a small village, accessible to many activities and restaurants. A...

Alain and his wife who own the Chateau made us so welcome when we arrived. The Chateau was a 12th century castle and was full of charm. It was based in the middle of Ortaffa with views over the village. The bedroom was large with authentic brick a brac . Breakfast was served outside on the terrace every morning with...

We stayed for 2 nights and came in from Spain, so the late 'after 6pm' check in didn' t bother us too much, although we must admit that in any other case this might have been a no-go for us, as now on arrival it had to be a quick intro and then already we had to fresh up and...

Chers amis , Dear friends My kingdom for a soap ... Short stay, but nice stay .. ?? We hope except this small problem with the shampoo ... In actual fact in your shower as on the sink you had a soap dispenser - lack of precision on our part. Our apologies. Next time we will make a small gift...

The chateau is charming, very old with loads of character, our room was large, with enormous ensuite, and fabulous views. However what makes it exceptional is the warmth of the hosts, welcomed with a cold drink, made to feel very welcome in their home. Breakfast was a delight with home made jam and yoghurt, freshly squeezed juice and fruit, plus...

We loved this private home which exudes warmth, welcome and comfort. Alain greeted us like old friends. He proudly showed around his elegantly appointed home which he shares with four lucky guests. Our room, Baroque, was more than spacious with a wonderful bed and huge bathroom. With the exception of a lone church bell, the village of Ortaffa is silent....

We arrived rather late from a dinner in Collioure in part because we got lost in the dark trying to follow instructions based on coming from a different direction compounded by a dying cell phone! Although the hosts were away at a wedding we were welcomed warmly by their stand-in and we found ourselves in a comfortable room on the...

My family and I booked this wonderful chateau last minute and we arrived to be received by very welcoming and friendly hosts Michelle and Alain. The rooms were beautiful and the property itself is a delight. I see in a review before mine that someone says that they felt like staying with old friends!! We felt the same, friendly, accommodating...

Alain is the perfect host, offering suggestions of places to visit, loaning maps and books(they have an electic and lovely selection of books), making sure we had everything we wanted. From playing soft music in the...
