We stayed one night before the golden week to start our roadtrip on the west coast of Izu. This is an old fashioned summer resort hotel with a fantastic view on a small bay. The two shared onsens are also very pretty. The bedroom was comfortable (we had a double with sea view) and the service very smiley and helpful...

This hotel is located gorgeously on a hilltop overlooking very nice bay views. We got a room where we could enjoy the bayviews from the balcony, which we enjoyed very much. As others have mentioned, it really is quite dated, and in need of renovation, but I felt It added to the calm charm of this property (we visited low...

We stayed at this property 30 Sep-02 Oct 2015. The best thing gong for this property is its location on the peninsula of Izu. It is a pretty large Hotel and unfortunately, caters for the group holiday trade. Therefore, it gets really packed in season and if you have a rowdy (and inconsiderate) group, it is best to spend the...

Very nice and welcoming staff. The hotel is located on a cliff which provides a gorgeous view. Pool is big and very well kept. You can walk to a small beach so it is a very good location. For dinner I would advise the1-2 km walk to Shimoda town. It's quite a steep walk but we found it to be...

When we arrived at the Shimoda Tokyo Hotel I couldn't believe how outdated this place was. For the price we paid, I expected much better. Sure, the location is okay, the staff is very friendly, the view was beautiful. But the accommodations were on the verge of being a dump. The hotel was crowded so clearly they are making money,...

At the price we paid for this hotel, I was shocked at how outdated and uncomfortable this hotel was. Location is okay, views are nice, staff was very friendly but the hotel was on the verge of being a dump in my opinion. We stayed in a small room, with a stale mildew smell and a plug in air conditioning...

We were met by polite and helpful staff, no doubt. But we were quite shocked when we arrived. The hotel is worn down and needs a complete facelift. There are wall to wall carpets everywhere, full of old stains. We could not believe our eyes when we came to the room. A metal door, again more wall to wall carpets,...

Friendly staff, STUNNING views, beautiful kept gardens and pool section... we loved this hotel. We were lucky to upgraded to the highest floor near the center with a great view of the water. The pool was clean, quiet and refreshing. There is lots of walking paths. Local people were lovely, so kind and helpful. I would HIGHLY recommend this hotel...

We spent three nights at this nice hotel. The onsen is really nice, open 6-12 and 14-01. We did not try give restaurants. We went in July which should be the high season, but place and whole city was very very quiet. Maybe because of the bad weather, it rained for three full days
