Situated in a Hamlet, high on top of a mountain/hill gave us the best view of the surrounding area. It is quiet and peaceful, the breakfast was a standard Italian breakfast but of good quality. The rooms are big and luxurious. The only negative was that the shower was a bit on the small side. The bed was comfortable and... More

I had spent two nights about three years ago at this guesthouse and was amazed then. Coming back I was once again surprised by its beauty and the hospitality of the owners, Doda & Pier. The view & location is one of a kind, the apartments with original details of the medieval village in which the houses are built, are... More

This place is amazing! Owner is charming, location is in an abandoned village (abandoned except for the guesthouse and the adorable feline residents). We hiked from the guesthouse and returned in the evening to sit and enjoy the view. Our only regret was not staying longer...again, this place is really special and unique and well worth a visit.

We stayed just one night, but if we could we would definitely stay longer. The location is awesome, it's just you and nature. The owner is very kind and helpful. She even helped us with our trip to Venice. The room was very nice and clean. We can absolutely recommend this place.

Had a wonderful stay at guesthouse runcini. Perfect secluded place with great views, a lovely garden and the remains of a medieval village surrounding it. Doda was a great host giving us lots of advice on the area.

This is the most amazing place to stay in Italy, not just Umbria or Abruzzo. The location is amazing, the individual units are superb and Doda our hostess was extraordinary. There are not enough superlatives to describe our experience at Guesthouse Runcini. We would come back to Italy from Australia just to stay here. You cannot make a better choice... More

Lovely borgo (medieval hamlet) being renovated very tastefully. On the Saint Francis of Assisi pilgrimage route, this guest house includes the whole borgo with a few renovated stone houses connected by little steep streets. Situated on top on a hill like most borgos, it is secluded and tranquil and offers a fantastic view. The medieval church which is part of... More

We - a family from Denmark - spent three nights in Guesthouse Runcini in july 2014. The place is amazing - Doda and her husband has bought half of the houses in an ancient village, restored them beautifully and made them into the guesthouse. The rest of the village is empty, but it only makes the place feel calm and... More

If you like nature and want to relax, Guesthouse Runcini is the most wonderful guesthouse you can imagine. We stayed in the apartment Casa Pietra for 16 nights in July and were very satisfied. The apartment was very clean, the bed was comfortable, and the kitchenette was well equipped. The rooms never get to hot, even in summer. But the... More

Several days ago, we have spent 5 days at the Guesthouse Runcini. The owners, Doda & Pier are charming people and the place itself had been tastefully restored. We have requested a place for a couple and received an apartment that included a kitchen, a living room with a fireplace and two bed rooms, fully furnished and accessorized with on-suite... More

Official Description (provided by the hotel)
The Runcini guesthouse, totally anti-seismic, is situated in an old medieval village, the Gabbio that overbears the Valnerina and the underlying community of Ferentillo. The units are at the beginning of this old village and the road that runs through it is part of its structure. The rooms are lodged internally of these completely reconstructed stone houses, maintaining the warmth and the history of the various elements with whom they were built and that have characterized them over the years. Casa Torre, Casa Dama and Casa Pietra are names that were given to the houses in order to mark the differences between one and the other. In each of the houses there is a space available including a distinctive well-equipped kitchen and places were one can comfortably relax while watching a movie. Each room has a private bathroom. The "stone" itself has generated the name and the colour that the rooms are decorated in. The space is equipped with characteristic items that give our guests the possibility to feel at home. The area around the houses has a nice terrace with a lawn and olives where one can enjoy the environment and immerse into nature. ... more   less
