Looking forward to a nice holiday in the beautifull highlands the hosts behaviour made us go the very next day. By far the worst B&B experience. Being told off for leaving a night light on for the kids, dont litter the house with children stuff (we didnt, she said it as welcome), and keep away from the house between 10...

We visited 'The Berry' to escape our busy lives for a few days. We got a very warm welcome from Joan and her very loyal dog Rodel. The house is gorgeous and set in a stunning location perfect for exploring the west coast of scotland and Skye. Joan is an amazing cook and made us delicious dinners and packed us...

If you want a bit of time out or away from the hassle of todays life this is the place to go.. Stunning scenery, wildlife, and the food, lets just say the scales complained when I got back. This is a superb location, for walking, cycling, and site seeing. We will most definately be back.

Lovely location, great food and a super host. I had never stayed at a B&B before, I must admit I prefer hotels etc but it was a very pleasant experience. The views are stunning and right on the door step, a beautiful sea loch complete with sea otters. Joan & Rodel are wonderful hosts, the ffod is all souced locally...

Well worth a visit. Fantastic views and a warm welcome. Wonderfully warm kitchen with a fond greeting from Rodel (Joan's very beautiful Pointer) and a great reception from Joan. Very cosy house, excellent food and comfortable rooms. All in all a great base for exploring the West Coast and Skye.

Joan (and her wonderful pointer Rodel) and the stunning location of The Berry have made this my favourite holiday location in Scotland. Joan is a talented artist and photographer and a superb hostess and cook. The house is simply but stylishly furnished and Joan's artistic flair is obvious throughout. This is a perfect base for exploring the Kyle of Lochalsh...

What a find, sourced from A Sawday web. Great hostess, great warmth and knowledgeable, wonderful food and all found in a stunning location - with great walks and fabulous scenery. Clean rooms. The tranquility was supreme, good weather - a great 'refresher' from the hustle and bustle of everyday living - and, none too far from the main raod through...

Having stayed here three times now, I can only compliment the hostess on her warm welcome, the beautiful, yet simple surroundings and the fact that nothing is too much effort. Our hostess has always gone the 'extra mile' to ensure we are comfortable. Her cooking is excellent and even getting up to give us breakfast at 6 in the morning...

I booked The Berry after seeing a photo of it on the Alistair Sawday's website and as the other reviews have said the setting for this B&B is beautiful. However the reception we received from the host was quite remarkable, being told off for leaving lights on in our room, to take our shoes off...etc etc the list goes on!!...
