Beyond the stunning beach front setting, exquisite natural architecture, and amazing healthy meals 3 times a day, what I loved was the quiet. No loud music, no kids screaming, NO ONE on the beach for miles. It feels like your own private paradise. The staff is incredible with professional yoga teachers and massage therapists at your beck and call. The...

I went here for a long weekend with my husband and a bunch of friends and we all just had such a wonderful time. We felt welcome and home the first moment we walked in and were greeted by their wonderful staff (and their dog Viva) who told us about their environmentally friendly practices and activities in the area. All...

We stayed here in late March 2016, to celebrate 25 years of marriage. It is stunning. Don't expect every modern conveniences - it's not that kind of place. You come here to relax, recharge and get away from modern life. The location is right on the beach - the sound of the waves is pervasive. The beach goes on as...

I booked a solo trip to Playa Viva for a yoga retreat through International Yoga. I was excited to escape the Chicago winter (I went in January) and take a week to zen out. It was about about a 35-40 minute cab ride from the airport, but the cab fare was covered by the hotel. I just tipped the driver....

The first sight of the beach and the casita we would be staying in at Playa Viva for the next five nights was enough to make us forget the fact that it had taken us 24 hours to get there from our home in San Francisco. The travel nightmare can be discussed elsewhere. There are only 12 casitas on the...

Nestled on a long, otherwise undeveloped stretch of beach, Playa Viva provides a complete break from life's ordinary cares in a beautiful, rustic setting. The entire length of the resort is just steps from the ocean, the sound of which accompanies you day and night. The food is delicious, and much of it is grown on site; the sleeping quarters...

This is our fifth time to Playa Viva, and it's as perfect as ever. Fascinating guests to get to know, perfectly healthy food in great abundance, yoga and massage each day, and long walks along the beach. We are staying in the new tree house cottage, with the beautiful ocean waves crashing down just across the path from our room....

I went to Playa Viva for a Reology retreat. The staff, the facility, and the environment are the best I have experienced anywhere in the world, and I have been to a lot of places. If you are looking for Club Med this is not it. If you are looking for incredibly good food, seclusion, and spectacular beach this is...

Playa Viva was a fantastic place to stay. It doesn't have the rowdy atmosphere you might expect in Cancun or Acapulco. Instead, it satisfies your mind with relaxation, magical views, and amazingly fresh and delicious food. And you get to release baby turtles! Will hopefully be back next year to enjoy it all again.

Amazing everything! Nature: sun, ocean, beach, baby turtles, horses! Genuine and happy people! Best food and drinks (ah, basil margarita!) We just came back after a week long vacation, posted so many pictures and videos on FB, just wanted to share this awesome experience with others and it still does not reveal nor describe the beauty of this place! Yoga...
