My partner and I spent 4 nights in Appi and 3 fantastic days on the slopes. The Appi Grand Hotel is fantastic with very welcoming, friendly and helpful staff, and all the facilities you could possibly need in one place to make your ski experience easy and enjoyable. The room we stayed in was huge with plenty of space for...

Free shuttle is available from Appi Kogen Station as per time table in winter, about 8 mins ride. Hotel is located at the foothills of Mt Maemori, easy access to ski in and out to the chair lifts and gondola. As part of the Chinese New Year celebration, various events were held on the weekend 27/1 to 29/1 - concerts,...

The hotel's ski resort is amazing for off bounds skiing, snowboarding... During the week is absolutely quiet and you seem to have most mountain to yourself. The powder is fluffy and dry and seem to be a frequent sight throughout the season. The hotel has adequate facilities with excellent Onsen, open almostt 24hrs. Overall a superb ski holiday for friends,...

The Appi Gran staff are fantastic, they couldn't be more friendly or helpful. No request was too difficult for them. Their attention to detail with our travel arrangements, and a complimentary takeaway breakfast, as we departed so early in the morning, was service above and beyond our expectations. The hotel is comfortable and well situated. The meal options are great...

I spent ten nights at the hotel - skiing most days and with a few days doing local sightseeing. My room (1555 in the main hotel wing) was very generous in size and fittings - sofa plus other comfortable armchairs and two large single beds. Staff were exceptionally friendly and helpful and all spoke good or passable English - luckily...

I came here at the end of December from Tokyo using Shinkansen and a local train. Once I reached Appi Kogen Station, a hotel's shuttle van had been waiting for me and picked me up from there. There was plenty of snow, the groomed runs were the strong point of the resort. The hotel room was a little shabby but...

Visited Appi in early April 2014 for some late season family skiing. Stayed 3 nights in a family room (good size) and purchased meals package and overall good value (purchased meal package just for adults and paid child supplement where we had to as it works out cheaper). Hotel was very clean and only minor negative was the beds and...

The Appi Grand is a great complement to one of the best ski resorts in Japan. It is a ginormous establishment in a ski-in and ski-out situation, servicing a very large, but still "boutique" ski area. The staff were extremely, and invariably, willing and helpful ... and mostly worked hard to overcome the language difficulties. The rooms were large and...

Spent 5 days skiing in Appi and staying at the very nice Hotel Appi Grand. Good size rooms if a little dated. Ski facilities were terrific - mainly new gear in rental, great ski out locker setup. Restaurants are expensive but terrific food, particularly the Chinese and Korean BBQ. Oh .. but if youre travelling as a couple they dont...
