An amazing place full of entertainment for all of ages and moods. The staff is friendly just to say the less. Activities outside or inside whatever you pleased! Great food, great sightseeing and great fun! The first time was so long ago (about twenty years) but it remains memorable!
I spent a couple days here with my family during our winter school break. This is probably the best hotel fazenda in the region. The property is located in the Santa Catarina highlands just a few minutes drive from Lages. As with most other hotel fazendas, the daily rate includes room + meals + activities. Guests have five meals per day available, from early country breakfast until dinner, and the activities offered include horseback riding, jeep ride, heated indoor pool, outdoor pool, among other group activities led by the staff. Something for everyone. Guests can opt in for other activities for a fee, including massage, rappel and rock climbing. The views looking east over the hills are just killer. You can see for miles. The horseback rides are led by guides and they go over some pretty rugged and steep terrain. There are several different trails that the guides use. Once again, just beautiful countryside, forest, grassland, etc. There are seven different trails that can also be done on foot. One leads to a nice little waterfall. The property has over 2,000 acres, so the possibilities for exploring are many. Our room was spacious, quiet and comfortable. Hardwood floors, sliding door leading to a little balcony that overlooked a small lake. Bathroom was ok. Hot water was hot. Mother and daughter took baths in a little soaking tub. Hotel provided a small twin bed for our daughter that was set up in the corner by the sliding door. Hotel also provided swim towels and robes to wear when going to and from the pool. Food service is very well done. Lunch and dinner have five or six different salads, at least ten or so hot dishes, and three or four desserts, all served buffet-style. Drinks are separate, so they give you Monopoly money to use during your stay to trade for drinks. Dining room has lots of space, a fireplace near the buffet table, and windows looking out over the playing field outside. When we were there, the guests were almost exclusively families with young kids. This was probably because it was during a school break, but the resort clearly caters to a younger demographic. There are lots of scheduled activities for kiddos, and the recreation staff are pleasantly enthusiastic to try to encourage participation. There is also a playground and an indoor play area for toddlers. All in all, a pretty complete offering for young people. Since this is a high-end property, some high-end criticisms are warranted: - Although a wooden theme is consistent throughout the common areas of the property, there are a few plasticky items in the rooms (at least in our room) that stood out: neon blue plastic hammock on the balcony (seriously?), PVC ceiling in the bathroom, plastic toilet seat. - The "king size bed" in our room was in fact two twin beds pushed together. - The wifi is very unreliable. Speed is ok, but very difficult to maintain connectivity. - The silliest mini-golf course I have ever seen is located right next to the tennis courts. - No English spoken here. If you don`t speak Portuguese, you better be good at charades.…
Found this wonderful resort last Feb while en route from Florianopols to Vacaria. No one spoke English but my Spanish made do. The price was all inclusive and the rooms are very nice. We stayed in the main lodge. The grounds are beautiful and well maintained. Our next trip will include a stay of several days to fully enjoy this treasure!
It's a hotel for families. The service is outstanding as well as the food from the restaurant. The location is not bad but you will miss some of the beautiful sights of the regional mountain ranges. Unfortunately the room I that I got (the 2nd best in the hotel) had many inconvenient issues: 1. The heater in the bathroom was broken. 2. The remote control for the air conditioner was fixed on the wall (then it was not a remote control anymore). 3. The light from the air conditioner was too bright causing me problems to sleep. 4. No WIFI signal in the room. Total paid for one night in the superior suite during a business day in june: R$ 244.00
