Castaway has that picturesque feeling about itself. We are superhappy with the accommodation, service and nice food. We had a 4 person bungalow with 2 rooms in the garden. Nice and clean with a balcony on the upper floor. Fans and Mosquito net in the rooms above the beds. Nice and spacious shower/toilet. No air condition but that was stated in the information before we booked. The fans make it tolerable. The staff was very kind and service minded and when sitting in the lounge/restaurant they noticed you right away and brought menus, took your orders fast and always checked if you wanted to order anything more. Food was good! We can really recommend this place, it's placed couple of meters from the ocean on Sunset Beach. The massage was also very good and you can borrow beach towels for the beach for free. One thing we can complain about is the castaway diving center, the dive manager was an extremely rude obnoxious white male in his middle ages with bald head. The other staff in the dive center was really nice, but he ruines it for all, a bully who likes to talk down to people, we won't ever book a diving trip there again as long he is present. A great stay from A-Z! Very friendly, helpful and well trained staff, extremely stylish and well furnished houses, beautiful location on the beach, very good food. There is the possibility to rent kayaks and snorkelling equipment. Furthermore, the whole hotel is trimmed to sustainability: The materials used in construction, the waste management, in the restaurant there is no fish from the national park, the rooms have neither air conditioning, nor hot water, nor a refrigerator - all of which is not necessary at all despite (or because of) the warm climate, because the houses are in the shade of the many trees and are pleasantly cooled by the wind (and the fan).

This was my fourth visit to Castaway Resort in last 5 years. Unfortunately this time it was a disappointing since the bungalows were neglected and the rooms were dirty. When I checked in, I realized it’s so dirty and cleaned the room myself. Then I showed the dirt to staff. They cared, sent the housekeeping but unfortunately there weren’t big change. In room safe, hangers, tables and shelves were incredibly dirty. There were even dried inspect corpse in on the wall in the bathroom. I regularly come to Koh Lipe. This was my fourth stay at Castaway since I liked it very much in past. Unfortunately, because of this incredible dirt I will never stay in Castaway again.

I had a very nice experience here. The restaurant has beautiful views and has great food. The crab pad Thai is the best thing I tasted during the whole trip. Ginger tea is also nice in the morning. A good option for accommodations if you're not too bothered by the lack of A/C. I would definitely come back and definitely recommend.

The rooms are really nicely designed, focus on eco is a plus. Accept the unwelcoming receptionist the other staff is very friendly. Maybe she was just overworked. Rooms at the back of the property are very noisy, it is like you're in the middle of a village. Luckily the village life is quiet at night. We were surprised to find out that Koh Lipe island is overdeveloped so if you're looking for a quiet spot it might not be for you.

When I think of Thailand, this is it. Genuine and friendly. Great vibe, good food and friendly staff. Beautiful location and the front desk/restaurant has just the right look. Surprisingly good food. Happy with everything really. The Bungalow was great, bed a little bit hard maybe. Mind you this is not a western style comfy hotel, it is a thai bungalow village. So you have to have the right attitude when visiting. For me, this was absolutely great for 3-4 nights. I would not stay longer as after a few days you start to miss AC, hot water and perhaps a pool, but for a few days to get a taste of backpacking vibe it’s all thumbs up.

Beautiful and quite place to stay in Koh Lipe in front of the beach. The food and breakfast was really good. Is near the Walking Street and all the shops. The room was perfect for us two. Thanks to all the staff for your kindly attention!

We stayed in one of the beachfront breezys and it was wonderful. Great view and at night you hear the ocean. We had no problems with mosquitos, used the net. Staff of resort is chilled and relaxed. Make sure you book with breakfast as it is really good. We also did a diving trip with them. Very special with longtail boat and we were in good hands with our diving guide Zaw.

My wife and I stayed in Koh Lipe Castaway Resort in April 2019. We received quality welcome, service was great and the staff friendly. All of these elements were ingredients that made our stay in Koh Lipe Castaway Resort memorable.

With quite a bit of travelling experience I have to say this place gets my best note. I contacted them by email for information regarding transfer from Hat Yai railway station and a foreseen stay of 11 nights. I got a very good offer (wrt standard price) and confirmation of transfer (shared minibus and speed boat). I couldn't make advance payment by bank transfer but they trust my saying I'd pay upon arrival, very nice! We stayed in the incredible 2-story bungalow, 32 sqm, nicely built, equipped with 2 fans over the bed. Mosquito net is provided (recommended at least for non-front beach bungalow as we saw tiger mosquitoes [=> Zika virus, Chikungunya, dengue fever] ) Daily room service with new towels, beach towels, drinking water (no fridge) are to be mentionned. Lovely restaurant setting, good food and 4 to 6 pm happy hours for cocktails. Hard to leave.…
