Weather - I thought December would be a Sunny month to go, but coming off the rainy season in Nov, do think about going there during the month of December, there were a few days with some really good sun, then followed by a few days with some gusty rainy days (which we still went out for island snorkeling, it was still fun!) Location - I did walk around the island and if you really wanted a quiet place to chill, Sunrise or Sunset beaches are the places to go to. Pattaya beach has all the quiet beach and crowd and fancy restaurant, but nothing beats the serenity here. Along the Sunrise beach, personally think Lipe Beach Resort has the best stretch of all, southern part of the beach can be busy with long tail boats and wash-up rubbish, but the north of this stretch is really quiet and less boat traffic. I like the fact that things wind down here pretty quickly after 8pm and sitting out at the beach, enjoying the breeze, looking at the star-lit sky is one of the best thing to do here. Hotel Services - Very friendly and they are always keen to help, there are 8 sets menu for choice of breakfast with the usual cold and hot drinks. Room Condition - I stayed at the beach front bungalow deluxe - all the units facing the beach front are A LOT more expensive than those at the back, I guess that's the price to pay. The bungalow is in good shape, but I do think it can be on the pricey side. For a longer stay, I might need to go for cheaper option. The room lighting can be rather dim which makes even reading book difficult. Other than that, everything is what it is supposed to be. There is no daily cleaning (which I think it is unnecessary) until you drop the key at the reception to ask for one. Entertainment - it's a small island, everything is within walking distance, and you will reach the busy main hub - Walking Street with a short walk. There are some cool bars around at some of of the resorts, which worth checking out.…
We stayed there for 2 weeks. 20th of November until 4th of December. Overall the stay was really nice. The staff were really friendly. We booked the bungalow with sea view with a fan no air-con for me was endurable the temperature but for my girlfriend was too much. So if you coming from cold country you should book the bungalow with air con. The beach is really beautiful just few steps from your bungalow. The beaches and water are beautiful like they say Maldives of Thailand. First week was really relaxing for us but the second one not so much anymore. In the Main Street is called (walking street) you can find a lot of dogs all the time hanging around the local shops. They basically looks like they are in good condition most of them but one day we saw one dog with broken spine close to 7-eleven. That broke us down so badly that we couldn’t continue our evening. We started to search on internet after local vets or someone who could help that dog. After couple minutes we found the side on Facebook “koh lipe vet care project” and that Koh lipe have a dog shelter runed by local girl. After talking we her she explained to us that this dog was hit by local taxi and the “owners” of the dog are not willing to give to dog to the treatment because of his old age. The next day we meet the girl she came to our hotel (Lipe beach resort) and we spoke about the homeless dog situation and she told us that the number of the homeless dogs in Koh lipe is countless. After seeing how hopeless the situation with the dogs on the streets is we couldn’t just walk around and smile anymore so , we decided to spend our last 4 days to help her with the dog shelter. Don’t get me wrong the island vibe is really cool and the people are really helpful and friendly but the behavior towards animals is not good. The animals are suffering, the local people care more about tourism and money than their dogs. The name of the shelter is Halfway House 4 paws. If you guys planning to come to Koh Lipe have fun and enjoy the weather but don’t forget to help other as well because nobody else with do it for you……
We decide to take a day tour and ended up staying overnight on this Island. After the boat ride to two other islands to get to Libe, We arrived and starting checking out the island on walking street. We found this little resort on the beach. And had a drink and decided to spend the night. The staff was very helpful , The food was amazing . The sunset and watching the moon come up was fantastic. We sat on the beach for hours taking in everything.
A very friendly hotel. Particular thanks go to the young receptionist who was very kind and helpful. The location is lovely though there are quite a few long-tails moored on this beach. Beach towels are available from reception and there are some great beds, swings etc to lounge about on. We had an air conditioned bungalow a few rows back from the beach. Have to say, we were a little surprised at the price for what we got (compared to other parts in Thailand). However, speaking to other travellers who were staying in other places, they noticed the same thing . We booked through a well known booking site. In future, we would probably deal directly with the hotels to get a better rate.
This was such a lovely few days! We moved to this resort after an awful experience at another resort. Great location on a really clean and lovely beach. Great VFM in lovely bungalows that are clean and very well looked after. Staff were amazing, esp the manager (Vom). They look after the beach (as do all the resorts on this beach to be fair) and ensure it is clean / tidy Food was good and reasonably priced. Great massage available too. . Highly recommend
Went for 3 days and stayed 10… Staff became a family, always supportive when any need. Really clean and best beaches in front. Only 10 minutes to walking street. Special thanks to Von Carlo for his dedication! (Without forgetting all the rest!). Counting days to come back!
My partner and I had the most amazing stay here. The room was lovely and the bed was so comfy we actually miss it now we're home! The staff were super friendly and kind and couldn't do more for you if they tried - anything we needed it was sorted before we even asked. The food and drinks were fabulous as was everything else about this place. We're very much looking forward coming back next year! Thank you to everyone at Lipe Beach Resort for making our trip so very special!
Beautiful resort with lovely views and tasty food, however visit ruined by unfriendly member of waiting staff. Our breakfast visit was less than satisfactory as we turned up at 10.50am when breakfast finishes 11.30am and everything was already put away. We asked the lady working if possible to still eat and she said yes. As normally there is a coffee machine and juices out we had to ask for a drink. The lady ignored our requests until we asked again and she brought us hot water in a cup. I asked again for juice and coffee in which she said they don’t have. I then asked another member of staff who brought us juice immediately. I finally caught the ladies attention again to ask for our coffee as she had been avoiding our area the whole time. After 5 attempts we received our coffee. I asked for milk and she mumbled no and walked off. I then had to ask the lady at reception for some milk who eventually made the lady bring it to us. I have no idea why we deserved such hostile attitudes and I will not be recommending the breakfast service to my friends.…
Overall, our impressions of staying in Lipe Beach Resort are pleasant. We did like a lot of things here: the staff, who is working here, was kind, amicable and extremely helpful; the food and drinks in local café was palatable and we really enjoyed our breakfasts and lunches there; the beach was really clean, and territory of the Resort is so beautiful as if it was made for snaping numerous super-cool photos. Also, we did like the location of the Hotel because it let us enjoy both sunrises and sunsets. We met the sunrises, sitting on the patio in our bungalow, and it took us just five minutes to take a short stroll towards the place where we were meeting the sunsets (not far from Zodiac Bar). Unfortunately, our main concern which hindered our staying in Lipe Beach Resort to become one-hundred percent perfect was also related with its location. Truth be told it wasn’t even a fault of the place, it just happened, that there was the boat station nearby and noise of engine woke us up at dawn every morning (about 5 am or something) because of that we had difficulties with sleep. At the same time, I repeat myself, I don’t consider it as a fault of the Hotel and just share our experience. Other than that, I would say, that Lipe Beach Resort is a decent place to spend the vacation on Lipe and from our side we wish this place all the best!…
I really cannot fault this resort at all. Right from our arrival - when we were greeted by a dog rather than a human - we were made to feel really welcome. Very quick & efficient check-in procedure by really friendly, helpful staff. The location is absolutely idyllic, on a big stretch of Sunrise Beach with crystal clear waters. There is an urak lawoi sea gypsy village right behind the resort and their school is next door which gives visitors an insight into the previous life of the island and its local culture. The beach is also the departure point for boat trips to nearby islands so really convenient. The rooms are really nice. We had a beachfront bungalow with a day bed outside, and inside it was compact but well equipped. No TV or aircon which we were happy about, but the lack of a wardrobe or anywhere to hang clothes was a negative point, and the water pressure in the shower was a bit weak. Breakfast was EXCELLENT. No lukewarm buffet - it's all a la carte and the food was great whatever we ordered, as was lunch. And the bar is a great place to hang out in the evening, with the resort's three lovely dogs. Recommended for your stay on Koh Lipe.…
