We was only here for one night we got the ferry from langkawi, the hotel was nice we had our own hut with balcony own bathroom, the room had fridge TV and air conditioning, really enjoyed this stay I wish it was longer. January 2017
Back to basics. Huts lovely (if a little small even for one person) but no air-conditioning! Lots of shelving and lots of mosquitoes: some get inside the net at night. The coils they give you are ineffective. Al fresco wet room / shower room so more mosquitoes. Good quality linen/towels. Hot water is the only difference between a deluxe room and standard room. I showered three times a day and didn't need hot water (remember, you're outside). Not all banks in Thailand charge a fee. The resort will charge 6% on arrival which is a bit of a swiz. so don't book through an online site or pay from the stronger currency online. Common area for tea/coffee and water not far from the reception. Environmentally friendly resort. Glad that I didn't have to change my towels every day.
Very nice property, perfect location , room is neat and clean and very friendly , helpful staff thank you very much for a trips in Lipe island. We stayed there for 4 nights and it was really great for sure we will come back again.
I honestly can't say anything negative about this accomodation. Great value, very clean, tidy and well curated . WiFi was good mainly in the common area but just because of the stormy weather . Considering that the whole accomodation is in the jungle, no surprise animals inside apart from a small gecko. That's all. Highly recommend it.
Be open minded. It is what it is. Ko Lipe is expensive for accommodation and the Gecko resort is clean and affordable. But you're staying in a hut so expect bugs, no air con and the occasional frog in your shower. The staff come and light mosquito burners regularly and they also offer house keeping which we were not expecting! Air con is an option for a considerably larger price, but do it, because those huts are roasting, especially in the summer months. The staff were pleasant and you are close to what we personally believe to be the most beautiful beach on the island.
Small but cozy bungalow, very clean with comfy bed and mosquitos net. Little terrace for chill a bit with some beers and cats. Relaxing atmosphere and close to the walking street and beaches! I didn’t want to leave 😩😩
The owner and lady at the reception are very kind and provide you with a lot of tips for activities around the island. The room was not very big and there are holes and open spaces everywhere. There is a net around the bed but there are mosquitos in the room. The net is really big and feels good. There is a fan in the room but because of the mosquito net you don't actually feel the fan but it's nice to cool the room a bit. The options to hang your clothes is very convenient. The space outside the room is nice to sit before or after dinner to chill. Make sure you use enough mosquito repellent. The shower was cold but because of the hot weather that was not a problem. The bathroom did smell very bad everytime after taking a shower. The smell was also in the room and stayed for a couple of hours. The location is very good and nearby everything but also away from the busy street. We did wake up dury the night and especially in the morning because of the light and the animals. There was no curtain on the window next to the bed. If you like a basic cottage in nature this is your place to be. If you like more comfort (we do) you can reconsider your choice. We thought the place is a little bit to pricey for what you get. Unfortunately everything on koh lipe is expensive and there were not lot of options.…
I stayed for 3 nights at the end of March. I was pleasantly surprised about the atmosphere in the resort. The whole thing is tucked in a pretty corner behind Walking Street with lots of trees and shady places. The staff at the reception were super polite and helpful as well. She always answered all my questions and I saw her doing the same with other guests multiple times. I had a very basic hut. Bed, Fan, Mosquito Net, not much more. It was cozy and comfortable most of the time and the staff let a slow burning mosquito repellant coil outside every evening. There's a common area with a stocked fridge with cold water, sodas and beer. There were 2 problems. There was no Air Con in the room, and I knew this when I booked. It was hotter than I thought it would be and the fan wasn't strong enough to create a breeze through the mosquito net. The second thing was the wifi. There was none in my hut, and the wifi in the common area was spotty. I'd go back, but I'd get an air con room.…
Thanks for everything, we really enjoyed our stay at Gecko Lipe Resort. I would definitely recommend to stay there. Bungalow was clean and in a quiet place. Close to everything and to both beaches. Receptionists were really nice and helpful plus their English is very good. Thanks guys.
Michi (the hostess) was really helpful and kind, big ups! The other staff was really nice as well by the way. The cottages were a good bang for your buck. They were cleaned every day including new towells.
