It's located close to beach where you have to climb down through compound of another hotel and a nice restaurant facing ocean. Until arrive at hotel it was not possible to get an idea of size of room and it was quite small. Everything functioned in the room. It does seem they do the minimum to keep the place sellable. Do not forget to bring mosquito repellent as it's almost impossible to stay outside room in the evening.

On our way to Ko Lipe we booked our hotel via Booking.com. When we arrive on an island we always book for only one night and to be honest this one night was too much. While we were still on the boat we received a message that our room was not available anymore! But we reserved a room... Very strange but the owner would offer us a different room. Anyway on arrival at the Raya resort the first question was can you pay now? I did not have enough cash on me so I said OK can I pay with credit cards which was possible but at a extra charge of 3%. On this island nearly every hotel and shop charges you an extra 3% when you pay by credit card. I guess they need the money desperately. Anyway when we were guided to our alternative room it appeared to be a small room with 2 double beds. It was a sort of small bamboo Bungalow. There were mosquitoes all over the place and in the bathroom we found at least 4 dead cockroaches. Lots of things were missing in the bathroom, no soap, no shampoo, no conditioner and also the toilet paper paper was not available.... only cockroaches... my kids did not dare to take a shower in this dirty bathroom. There was no other room available and we were tired after a long day of traveling so we decided to stay. The next dayI complained about oh what was missing and what was dirty and they only offered me 100 baht discount. In the end I got even 200 baht discount. So in the end I paid roughly 3000 baht for a room which in the rest of Thailand would cost 500 baht. Don’t go there. Did I mention that it is far away from the walking street and that the taxi drivers ask you 50 baht per person for a drive of maybe six minutes. Remember my advice and book another hotel on Ko Lipe…

The rooms were expensive. They were small and dirty. They advertise free wifi but it did not work in hole time we were there. Even the staff did nothing to repair the problem. Would not recommed to anyone.

Location on Sunset Beach was good (Sunset Beach was really nice - beautiful, laid back, and away from the crowds) and our bungalow was spacious and the staff friendly/helpful. But the bathroom smelled bad (like bad chemicals?) and I'm not sure why - if we left the door and window closed, a bad odor accumulated in there - maybe originated from the floor drain? Anyway, the size of the bungalow and its deck were nice but oddly there was no furniture in the room except the beds. Would have been easy enough to include a night stand and small table. This place is NOT a resort - nothing offered except the bungalow. That said, we LOVED Sunset Beach and the location.

The resort is not completely set up..no proper office/dining yet I guess for location high up from beach and bit in the woods, it is a bit overpriced. Beach when water subside in the evening is setback...The Porn resort occupied the beach area managed their rubbish very poorly, damage the beach and corals. Wifi in the room weak. Air cond not sufficient to cover the whole room, still need to use stand fan..inconvinent But we like the 2 twin bed set up, perfect for family A family operated resort, friendly and helpful owner & staffs
