The bar and restaurant were really busy when we arrived, great atmosphere. We checked in, rooms are dated, but clean, comfortable and best of all, quiet, as they were set away from the main building. We have a lovely meal in the bar. Breakfast next day was quick and really nice. Will definitely stay again.

A well situated in the centre of the small town of Buckden, handy for fishing at Grafham Water. The hotel was under some refurbishment whilst there but that did not spoil our stay in any way. Staff were more than pleasant, food good and the rooms well appointed. A good stay.

We called in to this pub as we were passing on the A1 - a dreadful experience from the start. Food was below average and locals extremely loud and encouraged by the staff at the bar when the area for eating is in very close proximity to the bar. The staff were not attentive to realise that the loud locals...

Very good value for money. Warm, comfortable room with all you need. Breakfast is extremely good (but do allow 10 minutes for it to be cooked). Bar / restaurant provide quality food in a relaxing environment.

I've just stayed at the Lion Hotel for the third year running, in the same room, which now feels like a home from home. The room is clean, spacious and comfortable, especially the beds. Everything you might need is provided and the staff are warm, welcoming and helpful. The atmosphere in the pub itself is delightful, with the cosy area...

Lovely place, big and confortable room, great service, nice breakfast. You can visit the castle next to the hotel and take a nice walk. We really enjoyed our time over there. It's an amazing place to stay, also for my little dog.
