We really enjoyed our stay at a lakeside lodge at Sani Valley lodge. We looked out onto such a variety of birds and liked the quiet location. Walks around the area were great and we also took a trip up Sani Pass which was definitely worthwhile. The staff were really friendly and the home cooked food we had at breakfast...

Just the most perfect setting for fresh mountain air, walking, swimming, riding and more - or for doing absolutely nothing. Can't think of a better place for a family and friends get-together. Think it would be really special in winter, too. Can't wait to go again.

We arrived at Sani Valley Nature Lodges late at night, only to be greeted by the most friendly staff who took care of us right away despite our late arrival. We were fortunate enough to have three gorgeous days at the lodge, however we would have stayed longer if there would have been a vacancy! It was so hard to...

We were very happy with this place! Our group of 9 had the rainbow and sunset lodges. We had full catering for 3 nights which was very good. All meals served in our larger lodge. Beautiful surroundings, very tranquil. Birders spent all free time on the large decks. A bit of a surprise to find that beer was not availble!...

Dear Egior Thank you for your wonderful review. Thank you for complimenting u son our dinner served in your lodge, I will be sure to pass it on to our chef. Also complimenting us on our 'nice and competent' staff all round, which is something I strive to achieve with my staff. It can be a birders paradise I agree,...

We stayed at this lodge during Dec 2016/Jan2017. Its a beautiful lodge with stunning views. It has an outdoor jacuzzi so you can sit and relax with a view of the lake. We stayed at Lakeside Cottage 3. Zinhle from Housekeeping looked after us during our 4 night stay. She was an absolute Angel, taking care of our very request....

Dear CosmosFields Thank you for the lovely review and I am glad Zinhle and the Spa ladies were friendly and helpful. We are constantly doing maintenance, pros and cons of living in such a beautiful place with such extreme weather conditions, especially working with a living product such as wood. Thank you again for the review and hopefully we can...

We thoroughly enjoyed our stay in one of the lakeside lodges. The views are breathtaking and our lodge was comfortable and met all our needs. This venue is a must for nature lovers or people seeking rejuvenation of body and soul. We opted for the fully catered option and found the meals to be substantial.

Stayed at the Lakeside lodge (no 3). It’s the most private - though they all are. It’s a 4 Km drive from the main road though a manned gate. There are only 3 lakeside lodges – large dinning cum living room overlooking the lake, Jacuzzi outside which is kept warm and ready for you – just the perfect place to...

We stayed at Sani Valley Lodge for two nights in a Lake Side Suite. We enjoyed it a lot - it is a very peaceful, calm place and just perfect to relax and be close to nature. Food is delivered in the evening, also everything else is cared for if requested. Also a perfect starting point for driving the Sani...

Stayed here for a weekend with my husband. Stunning location and beautiful rooms with the most amazing views. We were in one of the lakeside lodges which was gorgeous. Official Description (provided by the hotel)
Sani Valley Lodge and Hotel is a private nature reserve only 2 hours from Durban. It sits within the dramatic Drakensberg mountain range, borders the World Heritage Site and is the closest luxury accommodation to the famous Sani Pass. The reserve accommodates couples, families and small groups, all with the choice of full & self catering. Within the valley sits one of the largest privately owned lakes in South Africa, which is surrounded by a variety of antelope, zebra, baboons and other wildlife. It is one of the very few animal reserves in the Drakensberg, further enhanced by the vast lake which attracts unparalleled birdlife. The fishing is well renowned with regional records being attributed to the size of the lake. This is the prefect place to relax and have fun. One can indulge in a massage, be taught how to fly fish, go otter spotting by canoe, lounge in the Jacuzzi, be taken game viewing on horse back, drive a 4X4 up the famous Sani Pass, hike to the Bushmen paintings and more. Come visit. It's an experience you'll never forget! ... more   less
