Stunning location, warm and friendly staff :-) Rooms were amazing, with great views of the lake and mountains. Dinner in the rooms were so nice - the food was super yummy with huge portions. You really can't ask for anything more!!! Will be back soon!!!!!

Sani valley lodge is a quaint and peaceful location with private lodges dispersed on the grounds. The lodges are quite secluded and one must self cater for lunch however the breakfast is deliciously served in the breakfast lodge near a cosy fire. Dinners are preordered and served privately in ones lodge. The little gestures shown by staff are lovely surprises...

We booked the beautiful Rainbow cottage on 30/6-3/7/2016. The bookings were professionally managed by Silindile Mhlamvu. The lodge is set amongst the Mountains and expansive lakes, it is nature at its best. The lodge is 4 star and has been luxuriously furnished to make one's stay most comfortable and pampered. There are zebra, buck and birds that enjoy roaming the...

Dear Lili V, thank you for the review. Apologies for the late reply, I have been away on leave. I will chat to Silindile and Pinky in reception regarding the hikes, although we do not organize many hikes from here, we do normally refer them to the backpackers next door for detailed information. I will pass on the compliments to...

We love staying at Sani Valley Lodge! Any time of year is great with different activities all year round. Once again we stayed in one of the Early Mist Lodges. We stayed and Sani Valley Lodge during April 2016 as a family of four (2 children aged 8 and 10) in one of the Early Mist Lodges. It comfortably accommodated us in the 2 bedrooms and was well maintained and clean. We had opted for the cooked dinners that were delivered to our lodge very evening - and this is...

Five stars because the delivery of excellence surpassed the kind of holiday I have ever experienced in a similar setting. They promise clean chalets, plentiful breakfasts, homemade dinners delivered to your door, excellent service. Did they deliver? YES but they delivered much more. From entering the property with our welcoming gateman to the reception to our final goodbyes we were spoilt....

We stayed in one of the lakeside lodges and had a perfect family holiday. The main selling points, for us were: it's brilliant for kids (especially because we are city dwellers and the kids loved being able to explore the vast outdoors - in a safe environment); the quality of the accommodation; the friendliness of the staff; the absolute peace...

Official Description (provided by the hotel)
Sani Valley Lodge and Hotel is a private nature reserve only 2 hours from Durban. It sits within the dramatic Drakensberg mountain range, borders the World Heritage Site and is the closest luxury accommodation to the famous Sani Pass. The reserve accommodates couples, families and small groups, all with the choice of full & self catering. Within the valley sits one of the largest privately owned lakes in South Africa, which is surrounded by a variety of antelope, zebra, baboons and other wildlife. It is one of the very few animal reserves in the Drakensberg, further enhanced by the vast lake which attracts unparalleled birdlife. The fishing is well renowned with regional records being attributed to the size of the lake. This is the prefect place to relax and have fun. One can indulge in a massage, be taught how to fly fish, go otter spotting by canoe, lounge in the Jacuzzi, be taken game viewing on horse back, drive a 4X4 up the famous Sani Pass, hike to the Bushmen paintings and more. Come visit. It's an experience you'll never forget! ... more   less
