We stayed here for one night, arriving late from Gijon. The hotel is a bit outside of the village in a nice quiet environment. The room is a standard hotel room with all the standard luxury. The receptionist was really helpful in helping us to plan our trip afterwards. We had some sidra in their in their sidreria. In the morning there was a free bufet breakfast which was ok, but the bread was a bit dry.
This hotel was the only disappointment of the 7 hotels we stayed at on our recent tour of Northern Spain. The staff were friendly but incompetent and there seemed to too few of them. The rooms were really only just 3* standard. The hotel seems to be used by coach tours as a base, or was when we were there, which meant the restaurant was busy so we never actually got round to trying it. The terrace is a lovely area to sit but we really struggled to get a glass of dry white wine, we were given sherry then brandy.....in the end we played safe and had beer. Norena itself is charmless the only advantage is that its fairly equidistant from Gijon and Oviedo both of which we enjoyed and with hindsight would have been better staying at.
