We went to a concert with Kari Bremness at Night and the following day we went back. Had a guided Tour of the smallest castle I hav ever seen, but in excellent condition. The garden is gourgeous with so many different kind of roses. I highly recommend a visit

Thank you for your kind review. It is indeed Scandinavias smallest castle that has been kept as a home like the latest owners left in in the 1930's. But still, very much alive with an extensive events program every summer! Thank you for your recommendation! Kind regards, Linda Løvfall Baroniet Rosendal Manor House & Gardens

Beautiful park and suroundings - old buildings, and charming rooms. The food (breakfast included) - but also lunch and dinner was very good - rooms and food quite reasonable. We had our lunch up at the barony gardenhouse - and breakfast and dinner down at the farmhouse. Everything was just perfect!

Highly recommended hotel in Hardanger. Lovely place, fantastic scenery, great staff and good service. Not expensive. The Baroniet goes back ca 350 yrs and is well worth a visit. From Stavanger it takes ca 4 - 5 hrs by car, including 2 ferries, from Bergen maybe less

We spent the night in a wonderful room with charming well kept old furniture. Really like stepping back a hundred years. But very good new matress😊 Sheep grazing outside, could hear the waterfall, and owl in the night. Nice walks to take, and beautiful gardens. We had dinner in the evening and we ENJOYED😃 Absolutely top class

The Baroniet Rosendal is a true gem and is an even better experience, when you are staying overnight! At first, I was not aware, that we are not sleeping in the old castle, but in the farmhouses, 500 m away. Nonetheless, the interior was simple, but absolutely charming. The rooms were equipped with a brass bed, sink with a golden...

Thank you for your kind words! This is exactly the atmosphere we are striving to give our guests - a romantic alternative to the ordinary hotels. You should really experience the lovely trip around the Hatteberg waterfall next time (only an hour walk). Not to mention the stunning views from the Malmangernuten mountain right behind the Home Farm... And the...

Rosendal is an almost magical village at the foot of several might mountains. The silence is only broken by the bells of the sheep grazing in the meadows outside, and the waterfalls running down the mountain. It is a tranquil place, and the Barony is worth a detour. The B&B itself is unfortunately nothing to write home about. It is...

Thank you for your review! We are delighted to hear that you enjoyed the detour to our village! :-) We have tried to keep the buildings as original as possible, unfortunately the walls were thinner in the 1850's than today. All the rooms are different, and both the Home Farm and "Fruehuset" are restored with the same romantic atmosphere. The...

There is good quirky and bad quirky and this hotel, as the other reviews indicate, has both. I am personally glad we stayed here for two nights even though it was youth hostel-like in that the bathroom was shared by everybody and the hours were rigid (breakfast from 9-10 only). The wifi password seemed to be a secret passed down...

Thank you for your review! We are very pleased that you enjoyed your stay. We are continuously trying to improve, and breakfast is now served from 8-10 during weekdays, 8-10.30 in the week-end. The wifi password is made public in the reception. The free wifi capacity is also thoroughly tested by a couple of teenager guests who thought it was...

Staying at the Barony in Rosendal is a special experience. It lies in beautiful surroundings between the Hardangerfjord and the Folgefonna glacier. The manor house from 1665 is worth a visit and has a very interesting history to tell. The rose garden is just beautiful. You can walk around for hours, go to the lovers` bench or enjoy homemade ecological...

Thank you for your review! We are so glad to hear that you enjoyed your visit at the Manor House and the Gardens! Also the old farm Avlsgård & Fruehus offers a special atmosphere with its original buildings, but we wouldn't mind if the buildings from the 1850s were more soundproof... Luckily many guests are showing consideration for each other...

We went there with friends and expected a reasonable place, after all it is called a Baroniet. I think the sleeping quarters, 1/4 mile down a muddy track, should be called Baron-not-iet. The bedrooms are extremely basic, ours was not made up at 4 p.m., the staff had to walk through it to get to the store room / office....
