Hirafu backpackers - what a fantastic place! Spent a couple of weeks here in January and had a brilliant time. The backpackers is centrally located to everything you need, the ski bus stops opposite or the nearest lifts are less than a 10 minute walk up the hill. If you're coming to Niseko, chances are you're keen to hit the...

I stayed here for three weeks at the end of March/start of April. I stayed in a twin room, which was comfortable, clean and cozy! I could not speak more highly of the amazing staff that manage the backpackers. They strive to make you feel welcome and create an atmosphere that makes you feel like you're staying at a friend's...

I have now stayed here for a total of 63 nights over 2 separate trips (2014 and 2016). I initially chose Hirafu Backpackers based on the proximity to the slopes and the cost. Yes, there is a shuttle bus to the slopes which is about 20m from the front door, but if you're prepared to walk for about 10 mins...

Cons: - Terrible cleanliness throughout. I can't stress this enough, terrible. Toothpaste and cut facial hair in the sinks and all over the surrounding bench. Filthy floors and bathrooms throughout. - One shower for each of the genders, so you'll be waiting a long time. - Guests partying, drinking and playing loud music until ridiculous hours, which can be heard...

A friend of mine recommended I stay at Hirafu Backpackers and it lived up to everything he raved about. The highlight of the hostel is definitely the hosts Nisse & Dave. They instantly make you feel welcomed and ensure they can help you organise things wherever possible. They treat every guest like a good friend and often ride the mountain...

Hirafu Backpackers has a very convenient location –it’s also only a few metres away from a shuttle bus stop, and is also within a 10-15min walk of the nearest ski lift and to many bars/restaurants in the area. We stayed in the 6-bed dorm room which had plenty of space and the beds were surprisingly comfy for a hostel. The...

I stayed there 6 nights early March. Hirafu Backpackers is shamefully dirty. I wonder if it was ever cleaned once since the beginning of the winter season... That bad! Next time I will stay somewhere else for sure! PS: I agree on all accounts with jetsetterA330 and Jane M's reviews.

Our recent stay in Niseko was a lot of fun.....our accommodation was not. I've stayed at a lot of backpackers in the past-this was not one of the good ones. Hirafu Backpackers seems to attract rude/rowdy male guests who have no concern for others. Despite the 'house rules' there was loud partying until 3-4am most nights. The hung-over wrecks then...

Hirafu Backpackers was a big let down and is very expensive for what you get. Pros: - Shuttle Bus stop right in front of the Backpackers which transports you to the Hirafu Welcome Centre or the Hirafu Gondola. - Cheap lift passes and bus transport from Sapporo can be arranged prior to arrival by the hosts. - Washing machine available....

Stayed here during part of a two month trip. As a hostel, the place is pretty standard from a facilities point of view with everything that you would expect. Kitchen area, TV area with films and a drying room for your gear. The only place where it falls down a bit is that there is one shower for guys and...
