We stayed at the Bampton Village Store B&B on our Coast to Coast journey. Bampton is a little off track from the C2C but the alternative is to slog on to Shap which makes for a very long and tiring day, so this was a good place to stop. The B&B has two rooms and we (our party of 3!)...

Very friendly people, well-equipped large room with first - class bathroom. Great breakfast. A little off the coast to coast route but well worth the detour. Good evening meal only 500 metre walk away in next village

Three of us arrived having pre booked. The owner was very welcoming and keen to share local knowledge. We shared a large, very clean room with ensuite bathroom. The breakfast was cooked to order . An excellent stop on our walking trip which I would recommend to others.

Stayed here on the Coast to Coast walk for one night. Received a very nice welcome from John and was taken to the upstairs apartment at the back of the shop. It was beautiful, light, airy, spacious, very comfortable. John insisted on carrying our very heavy bags up the stairs which was really kind of him. We had an extremely...

Lots of really good things about the Village Store: an immediate selection of cold drinks from the shop fridge when you arrive weary after a big day walking over Kidsty Pike and that endless walk around Haweswater; the very friendly reception from the owners; the really nicely done new bathroom; the seperate entrance to your room that gives an increased...

John was very welcoming and accommodating. Having the store so handy was also extremely helpful after a long day on the C2C walk. Breakfast was excellent and the local pub was only a 7 minute walk away. Our room was very large and well equipped. John also did our laundry for a very nominal charge.

We were extremely well looked after by Janet & John when part of our group spent a night here during our Coast to Coast walk in May. The breakfast was the best of our entire trip & John was very helpful in not only helping to sort out mis-delivered luggage but also in giving us map pointers & advice before...

Shap being full, we booked a place here on the coast to coast walk and arrived to find a note explaining how to get to our room, on the ground floor with our own porch so we could de-boot without getting mud all over the clean room. The room was a twin room with spectacularly flowery bed-linen and a good...

My wife and I stayed here for a one night stopover, and think we've found a gem of a place to stay!! From ease of booking, to making dinner reservations for us in the local pub, as well as a comfortable room (with wifi and bath), it was a pleasure to stay here. A hearty breakfast sent us on our...
