What a short but unforgettable getaway. From the moment you step into the cottage you know you are in for a special treat. The birds, the spa, the privacy, the fire, the close proximity to the National Park…all add to this incredible experience. The homemade treats you could tell were made with lots of love & were delicious. Thank you for sharing your little piece of paradise with us Kate…even if only for a short while. We would highly recommend your place to anyone.
Wow! What a great place for a romantic getaway. The host has thought of everything. The breakfast basket is huge , fire place well stocked, the bed was so comfortable. The bbq package is a great option and massive . Comfy robes to wear, complementary port to enjoy when your sitting by the fire , so relaxing.
The wonderful owners, Kate and Gary, helped give us a perfect anniversary weekend. From amazing complimentary breakfast hampers to the little personal touches of homemade baths salts, you would not want for anything more except to stay longer. Very clean cabin with beautiful landscapes. Close to the entrance to Kondalilla Falls. Their Luxe Picnic Package was worth the extra money for all the delicious foods and drinks in a relaxing setting.
We had such an amazing weekend at Montagues! Kate went above and beyond to make sure we were comfortable for our weekend. Breakfast hampers were amazing and having the cabin self contained was nice as well. We look forward to coming back up to Montville and staying there again. Only suggestion would be to change around the breakfast menu in the mornings for some variety.
We absolutely loved staying here. So close to the Kondilila Rainforest walk and waterfalls. You can literally step out the gate and start a short walk through the national park to the falls. After your walk you can enjoy a drink or two in the spa while you enjoy the secluded view of the forest through the windows. Although a lot of people like to stay during the winter, the warmer months are definitely catered for with air conditioning (if you need it) but the rainforest is generally a couple of degrees cooler than its surroundings. Parking is great. No tussles for tight parking spots as there are just two cabins at Montagues and the car park is a generous size. Pro tips: 1. Make sure you are strong enough to carry your luggage up/down a flight of steps. 2. Feed the Kookaburra. You’re on his property. His name is Kevin :) 3. Internet is so so. But you don’t come to the rainforest to look at screens anyway. 4. Your hosts are amazing, let them know if you need anything. Actually, the hosts are what sets Montagues miles ahead of the rest. Contact with the host is a perfect balance of making sure your stay is comfortable and giving you space to enjoy your time there. We had the breakfast package included in your stay and our hosts were very understanding about our dietary needs which was such a relief. We’ll most definitely be back there as soon as we can.…
