From J Boy of Derby Cannot comment on the food as only had time for a beer. Lovely hotel and bar area but the real charm is the garden and the fantastic views of the Hope Valley. Service was good I thought the price a little expensive for a beer but then again prices are high in this part of...

We booked very last minute to get away for the weekend. Booked through their actual website to get cheaper deals. We had the twin room for two nights. Really nice and friendly hotel. Very happy with everything. Breakfast in the morning was great, a good selection of food and a nice fry up. Great value, would definitely recommend!

The room was a reasonable size and was clean and nicely furnished. However, there are a few maintenance issues which should be addressed, especially in the bathroom. The shower was impossible to use as the water was either boiling hot or freezing cold. This has been mentioned by previous guests so no action has obviously been taken. Dinner and breakfast...

This is a lovely hotel. Terry and Helen, the proprietors, were so friendly. Their staff, equally so. Superb food...including kippers for breakfast! Highly recommended, loved the hotel, room and setting.

For our Lake District road trip from London, my family and I wanted to have a stop over at Peak District for a night. The four of us booked 2 rooms (1 superior and 1 standard due to availability). The superior room is so amazing with bay window overlooking beautiful landscape and size of the room is a lot bigger...

Recently stayed for two nights. Staff (particularly the breakfast staff) were very friendly. Room was a good size and clean. However given the price was expecting more in terms of the detail particularly around maintenance. The shower head support was broken and it appear as though someone had fitted a black piece of plastic to try to rectify the situation,...

This is an excellent hotel. We were made very welcome by the owners and the room we had was very large and recently refurbished - everything was new and worked. The hotel is in a beautiful setting with views over the surrounding countryside and a spacious garden with these same views. There is ample car parking. Inside, the bar/restaurant is...

Stayed for 2 nights while attending a wedding. What a good choice. Warm welcome on arrival. We had two rooms. one overlooking the main road which did suffer from road noise, some large lorries passing through overnight. The other overlooking the valley, no complaints with that view. Both were comfortably furnished. On a personal note better pillows would improve the...

Good food, excellent company and service. Lots of parking and fabulous views out over the Hope Valley. Rooms very comfortable with en suite and realistically priced. Overall good value for money. Caters for weddings. Dogs welcome in certain rooms. Grindleford is a pretty and tranquil village in a lovely setting. The village benefits from having its own railiway station on...
