Stayed at Sir Williams for one night. We were not disappointed. Very friendly staff that couldn't do enough to help. Wonderful food at the restaurant with the added bonus of a Sunday night quiz. Great beer on tap. Comfortable and clean room. Fantastic breakfast with a wonderful view the following morning. Thank you Terry & Helen.

Visited here on a brief visit to the Peaks. Reasonably friendly welcome and shown quickly to room. Room itself was adequate, a bit tired (with a small, rather distant, TV). I slept OK, but I would imagine the mattress might be a little 'flat' for some. Effective, if rather noisy, shower. Breakfast was very good - tasty, hot and promptly...

We stayed here for what we hoped would be a lovely pre-Christmas getaway. I would recommend that you do not stay here for the following reasons. 1- mould in room 1(see picture) this was supposed to be a "superior" room...quite what this was superior to I cannot even imagine. 2- if you go between December or any other time in...

First time here for four diners who live nearby. We were recommended to try this local hostelry for an early evening dining experience and were not disappointed. A mid-week visit on what turned out to be a quiet night. A short but varied menu was augmented with several interesting blackboard specials. The fillet steaks with bearnaise sauce and dauphinois potatoes...

From J Boy of Derby Cannot comment on the food as only had time for a beer. Lovely hotel and bar area but the real charm is the garden and the fantastic views of the Hope Valley. Service was good I thought the price a little expensive for a beer but then again prices are high in this part of...

We booked very last minute to get away for the weekend. Booked through their actual website to get cheaper deals. We had the twin room for two nights. Really nice and friendly hotel. Very happy with everything. Breakfast in the morning was great, a good selection of food and a nice fry up. Great value, would definitely recommend!

The room was a reasonable size and was clean and nicely furnished. However, there are a few maintenance issues which should be addressed, especially in the bathroom. The shower was impossible to use as the water was either boiling hot or freezing cold. This has been mentioned by previous guests so no action has obviously been taken. Dinner and breakfast...
