Hola Daniel, Bayardo, Pedro, Luis - thanks for an amazing 4 days of relaxation and arranging all our activities from start to finish. We enjoyed good food, great drinks, warm hospitality, bobbing in the inner tubes, swimming to the dock, Masaya, Granada , Mombacho , uno and card games! My ritual of the Baileys on the rocks nightcap was such...

Thanks for taking time to write a review and you love our site. I am a bit surprised about your comments as by check out my Assistant Manager ask you if you have any suggestion or complains about your stay. And you mentioned only that one time on dinner starter and main course came together. Sorry for that that should...

We have been to San Simian twice now and will keep coming back... Daniel and his staff are amazing. They help us organize travel to and from and make it so easy. The location can not be beat, this place is an oasis in the jungle... on the edge of a volcanic lake... the cabanas are clean and comfortable and...

Myself and my girlfriend stayed here for 4 nights in the previous summer. The peacefulness and homely feel were greatly appreciated. If you're stuck in a busy work schedule and need a place for some downtime, I highly suggest San Simian Eco Lodge. The hospitality was great. The food at the restraunt is fresh and locally sourced which adds to...

We stayed 4 nights in San Simian and had a great time. There isn't much that I can say that others haven't said. So I will focus on a few things that will help someone new 1) If you are coming directly from MGA, arrange a pickup through Daniel. You don't want to drive to the resort on the very...

Daniel, the owner, was an incredible host during what could have been a potential Thanksgiving nightmare of Hurricane Otto and 7.2 magnitude earthquake. Many of the tourists left in fear of these disasters, but my friends and I largely had the place to ourselves. He even drove us from Granada to San Simian himself, which was a great gesture to...

On our first visit to Nicaragua, my wife and I met some resident friends at Laguna Apoyo. It had become a favorite in-country destination for them, and we gladly joined them at San Simian for a few days just after the commencement of the dry season. We were very pleased with all aspects of our stay, from the warm welcome...

Stayed two nights, what a treat! It's at the very end of a long bumpy road, but totally worth it. Stayed in a private cabana, complete with my own private patio and outdoor bathroom (LOVE), beautiful netting over the beds and a ceiling fan. Lake itself was so warm and lovely (November), nice to have free access to kayaks and...

We stayed over the weekend and despite the weekend day visitors we found it very quiet and relaxing. Near the end of the road it is far enough away from the big resorts and day traffic too. The place was impeccably clean and the cute cabins very comfortable. The food and service were excellent also. We are foodies and never...

I could have stayed here forever! The cabins were clean and tastefully decorated, the beds were comfortable, and the outdoor shower with hot water was an amazing experience. Daniel, the owner, is so helpful with planning and arranging activities in the area, as well as suggestions for all of Nicaragua. The staff was friendly and helpful, and the food was...

Official Description (provided by the hotel)
San Simian is a charming Eco Lodge in the Laguna de Apoyo Dry Forest Preserve. Nestled along the water's edge, this secluded resort has private unique lodging tucked into the slope of the crater and steps from the swimming dock, hammocks and bar where guests pass the time. Guests can stay in a unique palm-roofed cottage with open air shower, private garden or terrace, eat at our full service restaurant and relax at our outdoor bar. As San Simian is equipped with a Catamaran, several Kayaks, and other water toys, activity revolves at the lake front and in the clear warm water itself, however, bird and monkey watching in the surrounding forest are also popular, and we are also located at the entrance to a great hike path that leads up the hill to the Pueblas Blancas artisan villages and the stunning Mirador at Catarina. Please Call Ahead if you would like us to arrange a massage, pedicure, Spanish lesson, guided hike, Granada or Masaya tour. ... more   less
