TripAdvisor are wrong to call this a B&B - it's way more. Accommodation is in cabins of different configurations- read their website. Ours was nicely done. The restaurant serves breakfast, lunch and dinner. The food is really good. (Lunch and dinner are not included in the cabana price) There are multiple vegetarian options. (About 8) The 'beech' has a jetty,...

We spent 2 nights at San Simian, staying in the Coco cabana. Everything was lovely. The cabanas are delightful and spaced apart, so you have privacy. Daniel, the owner, and Bayardo, his deputy, were both welcoming, friendly and did all they could to make our stay great. The food is really good, tasty and well-presented, and the European dishes actually...

Outstanding accommodations and service. Daniel, the gracious proprietor, personally greeted us and checked us in. The bungalows are beautifully decorated, and the grounds are lovingly landscaped and well tended. Hammocks, seating, and intimate outdoor spaces abound. The staff is truly courteous, and Daniel takes an interest in all facets of operation. Yummy menu and cold beer/wine. Though a bit out...

We started our honeymoon here and stayed for two nights. The manager, bayardo, was very friendly and attentive to our needs. The food was great, as was the view of the laguna from both the restaurant area and the bar. Swimming in the laguna was nice--water is clear and clean and calm. All the staff was incredibly helpful on things...

A lovely owner managed property. All staff incredibly helpful on local points of interests and wider trips within the country. Laguna itself is so peaceful and relaxing. I much preferred to use this location as a base and do trips to the volcano, Granada, local villages etc rather than being based in Granada itself.

We spent a very pleasant three nights. Four days at San Simian after a not so great weather experience in the Corn Islands. The property is gorgeous with private well designed cabanas each with its own lovely outdoor shower. We had a wonderful view of. The lake and each morning a pot of hot coffee with hot leche was placed...

My husband and I had a wonderful stay at San Simian. The rooms were the best we had in Nicaragua...so comfortable, breezy, bright, beautiful views, lovely private outdoor bathroom and shower. The lakefront location offers swimming in crystal clear water, kayaks, innertubes, swinging in hammocks, and lounging on chairs with a pina colada. We enjoyed the forested setting and hiking...

San Simian Ecolodge was a fantastic place to visit. We spent 4 nights in January. Great weather, although the lake was a little rough at times (great for tubing) due to strong winds, otherwise wonderful for swimming -- water perfect temperature and crystal clear. No mosquitos. Very pleasant grounds with hammocks and comfortable chairs everywhere. The walk from the lake...

We stayed in a beautiful little hut made of natural material, facing the lake. The outside bathroom was fun and nicely appointed. We were welcomed with a fresh fruit juice in the little restaurant overlooking the forest and lake. They catered for our vegetarian needs well. Walked along the lakeside and saw a howler monkey with baby and lots of...

The San Simian is a wonderful place to relax. There is wifi but no TV's or AC. Cabanas are fine - enough room and great outdoor bathroom and shower! This is one of the best lakes anywhere! The water in the lake is always warm because of the underground fumaroles and it's clean - if there are waves it is...

Official Description (provided by the hotel)
San Simian is a charming Eco Lodge in the Laguna de Apoyo Dry Forest Preserve. Nestled along the water's edge, this secluded resort has private unique lodging tucked into the slope of the crater and steps from the swimming dock, hammocks and bar where guests pass the time. Guests can stay in a unique palm-roofed cottage with open air shower, private garden or terrace, eat at our full service restaurant and relax at our outdoor bar. As San Simian is equipped with a Catamaran, several Kayaks, and other water toys, activity revolves at the lake front and in the clear warm water itself, however, bird and monkey watching in the surrounding forest are also popular, and we are also located at the entrance to a great hike path that leads up the hill to the Pueblas Blancas artisan villages and the stunning Mirador at Catarina. Please Call Ahead if you would like us to arrange a massage, pedicure, Spanish lesson, guided hike, Granada or Masaya tour. ... more   less
