The hotel is a 30 min walk from Hanga Roa but we used taxis to save time. They are quick and efficient at200 clp per trip. Hotel is described as simple but is very good at what it does. Spacious room very clean, towels and sheets changed daily. Pool is not heated but we did use both days - lovely... More

Sometimes I read hotel reviews where the reviewer states that they were made to feel like family and I think, ‘yeah, okay.’ Hotel Puku Vai really does give that warm and welcoming feeling, though. We booked the Complete Program with Guided Tours (5 days/4 nights). This was the perfect amount of time on the island, although one extra day would... More

We stayed at Hotel Puku Vai for 3 nights: - Location: it's around 25 min walk to the main streets. After walking for the first time, we resorted to taking taxi (CLP2,000 fixed fee per ride) as it's ultimately much easier. It's very close to the airport though (5 min walk, and literally 1-2 min by car), and the surroundings... More

Thank you for your review! Hotel PUKU VAI is very conveniently located hotel in Easter Island. We're not far from the main attractions of Hanga Roa but far enough from the noisy downtown. Our location is even better when you'll head out for touring or biking – you're out exploring Easter Island the moment from the very moment you'll open... More

Another great choice, thanks to TripAdvisor! Right from the time when I booked this hotel online, the Manager, Mr Jarkko Sikiö, was very cooperative in providing all the information I needed for the trip to Easter Island. The personal meeting with him after we reached the hotel was equally good. His lady assistant and kitchen staff were very friendly and... More

We were very pleased with our stay at Puku Vai. The hotel is located very close to the airport, and about a 15 minute walk from the city center. The owner, Jarkko, is extremely friendly and welcoming. We arranged a tour through the hotel, which included airport transfers. Upon our arrival, we were greeted with leis. The room was simple... If you are looking for something similar to the four seasons, with room service, high speed wifi and multiple TV channels, then you aren't going to find that here, or anywhere on the Island. What you will find is a small family owned and run hotel with an owner (jarkko) who will go out of his way to help you... More

Very disappointed with this hotel. Welcome was just okay...not very hospitable. Hotel looks good in online photo and also photo shared by our travel company but it does not measure up to the (4-stars) reviews indicated--more like a 2-1/2 stars although hotel rooms and limited amenities are pricey. Our room in the back of hotel appeared to be hastily put... More
