The location is convenient but Hanga Roa isn't so big that it mattered that much. I wasn't expecting luxury at all when I arrived but was still disappointed. The owner felt hostile on arrival, didn't seem to know we were coming, didn't know what rate is booked (making me think I should I have negotiated a lower rate), didn't offer...

Did not feel like a good value for the money, but I don't know if there are better options. Seemed very pricey at about $140/night. They pulled the "credit card machine not working" scam and demanded cash (fortunately we could go to the ATMs on multiple days to get enough money, but very odd the machine still didn't work days...

Upon my arrival very early in the morning I got a cab from the airport to Orongo hotel where I had made reservations a week earlier. I was dropped off by the cab, then the driver got out and went around to one of the rooms. A few minutes later he arrived with the owner or manager (still not sure...

After a very mediocre experience at a hostel (no hot water or cooking or toilet paper, ugh) I missed my flight and was left with an extra night in Hanga Roa (no complaints there). The other hostels were full and I wandered into Raul's courtyard here at Hotel Orongo around 5:30pm. Of corse I'd seen it many times during my...

I booked through hotel.com which stated there's airport pickup. I made such request through hotel.com and also sent emails separately to this hotel, all without feedback. I finally asked my hotel at Santiago airport to arrange a telephone call to this hotel. I was told by the male host of this Orongo Hotel that I could simply take a taxi...

Can’t say enough good things about this hotel, we just walked up and asked for a room and couldn’t be happier with our stay. The property is a big beautiful garden and I’ve never met nicer friendlier people EVER, they could not do enough for us, there is no better location to stay on the island. Did I mention how...

We stayed at Raul's hotel for a few nights. The room was basic but clean and the bed comfy. Raul provided a very nice breakfast and we also had 2 of our dinners at the hotel. The meals were the best we had on the island. The hotel is right on the main road through town and a short walk...

Call the hotel, don't book online. Online was more expensive than what they were asking. It is near tours, food, car and ATV rental, staff was super nice and spoke multiple languages, Hawaiian feel to island and hotel. The hotel was in the middle of everything. I could walk next door for tours, across the street for cheap but good...

We arrived in Rapa Nui from Galapagos by sailboat. Walked down the Main Street and stopped at hotel Orango. We were greeted by Eriti, Inez and Raul, sisters and brother. All were multi lingual and very friendly. The grounds were like the Garden of Eden with fruits for the picking. During my stay I had a bad encounter with some...

From the outset a poor tone was set when we were not picked up at the airport even though we had rung from Santiago to confirm this arrangement.. no apology or explanation. Other hoteliers at airport doing pick-up said Orongo Hotel often forgot to pick up guests. Rooms were not ready though only 2 other rooms were occupied. No one...

“If you are there in high season, the rooms at the rear might be more quiet, as they have the AC. For me, with the screened window open, the room on the front was fine, and the fan was not even needed in March.”
