Can't praise this little gem enough stayed there Friday/Saturday 3rd-4th March; been busy boy first chance to review; part of a brewery chain but Ana and her superb team run it like a family owned hotel food far better than expected great bar full of friendly locals next to beach so great for walks on beach or surrounding hills previous...

This hotel has an enviable location, a frontage that overlooks the sea and a beer garden that enjoys wonderful views. Only a small amount of rooms so a good idea to book early if you are set on dates. The cooked breakfast is a hearty affair, cooked fresh, no buffet style here and very good it was. The staff all...

On the way to Cornwall from Sussex, decided to break the journey in Beer. What a lovely village! Managed a walk on the beach, visited neighbouring Branscombe, then settled in for an enjoyable curry at The Anchor. Room had a sea view - always a plus. Good sized room. Staff ver helpful. Breakfast huge! We'll stay again.

Great location, great beer, great food, great service. Perfect stop off after a walk along the Jurassic coastline. It does get very busy so seats & tables cannot be guaranteed. This one is going onto my list of regulars.

Excellent place. Great location and fab views. Had lunch on arrival - quick and tasty. Evening meals (2 nights) were both superb value. Very friendly staff, especially Ana. Would prefer a wider selection of real ales. Would certainly return.

We visit Beer and its pubs regularly and today decided on lunch at The Anchor. Full credit to the staff on duty who were chatty and polite despite being massively understaffed and stressed, which I can only assume was due to the management not looking at the weather forecast and seeing that today was due to be warm and sunny...

Drinks arrived very quickly with the meal arriving very shortly after which was great. Lovely and hot, really tasty. Staff very cheery and organised. Beer is a...
