My wife and I are experienced walkers and stayed here when doing the Cateran Trail (which I would recommend!). Strathardle Inn was an ideal spot to spend one night. Food was good and staff were friendly. However in comparison with our other locations during our walk, it was more basic and perhaps could have got some decorative improvements. We also...

Lovely rustic Inn, small bar and lounge/restaurant. Helpful and friendly staff. We arrived to find our room was above the bar, we asked if we could have another room and we were moved to another one outwith the building in the former stables. It was lovely (both rooms were). We booked dinner for both evenings and were not disappoointed it...

This is an old traditional Scottish hotel run by a friendly family. There is a large car park and outhouses converted into comfortable family and twin rooms. These rooms are clean and of good size. New fittings in bathrooms with good showers. the bar area serves both drinks and bar meals. both beer and food is of good quality.

Returned to this hotel with another 8 friends for a walking weekend. We dropped off our bags early doors and then drove to our starting point. On walking back to hotel we had a couple of drinks in the great wee bar before getting changed for dinner. The rooms were really good with loads of fresh towels, and plenty shampoo...

Booked with a groupon deal which was brilliant value. Lovely area for walking the dog. Enjoyed a couple of games of pool before dinner. Food was stunning. Cullen skink was as nice as I've had in many fish restaurants. Balmoral chicken and burger mains were superb. Hats off to the chef. Staff were so friendly which was brilliant. Would highly...

Booked almost at the last minute for Easter Weekend and they gave me a good deal on b and b rate which I booked direct and got for considerably less than advertised on booking site. Room was actually an external family suite which would be excellent value - simple but good size and dog friendly. Bar meal was good -...

This was our second visit to the Strathardle, we found it a couple of years ago and always said we'd come back. We got a great deal through Groupon. Room was spotlessly clean, bed was comfortable, tea and coffee making facilities in the room, brilliant hot and powerful shower. Bar is nice and was busy with locals. Bar food was...

We were given an itison deal for 2 nights stay at this hotel. We had no expectations. When we arrived we received a friendly welcome and shown straight to our room. The room was big, slightly dated but very clean with a fresh bathroom. The best part of the room was the dual aspect view, just stunning! The hotel is...

Three of us plus dog took a deal to Kirkmichael- never having been to this area before. We were more than delighted with our visit...Great welcome from delightful staff, delicious food with an ample choice and an excellent location for walks. We visited House of Bruar on a recommendation from the hotel- and we were not disappointed. Also, Pitlochry with...
