Four of us met up for lunch in Corbridge and decided to go to The Golden Lion after one or two recommendations from local shopkeepers ( we normally go elsewhere for lunch but fancied a change) The waitress was particularly friendly and helpful, even putting extra logs on the fire and using a fire lighter to get it blazing again....

Firstly Ted is my super Jack Russell dog and whilst he didn't dine at the hostelry he was made to feel very welcome by the staff. Secondly let me say that I am not one of those people who needs everything to be 'cordon bleu' foodwise nor 'CAMRA' rated five star beerwise. I look for good, warm, friendly service, well cooked...

Visited for food & will definitely be back. Food was fantastic & very reasonably priced. Lovely surroundings & nothing was a trouble for the staff. Shame it does not come up on places to eat in Corbridge on trip advisor for places to eat. Will probably book a couple of rooms & stay for the Saturday night entertainment after our...

Whilst staying in Corbridge we called in here several times, as a group and as a couple. We were made welcome every time, the beer was good and the staff were friendly. Only drawback was the one armed bandit.

Greeted well by staff and shown rooms. They were the usual type. Nothing startling but clean. Breakfast was any combination of items from an all English and very enjoyable. I recommend this hotel for a decent night.......in spite of the plumbing!

Booked through booking .com total price £59.95(I thought) be wary and check price as this is the single occupancy price and not for two persons (very misleading from booking.com and has happened before according to the manager). The total price was £89.95 which i found very hard to swallow after staying in room 6. As soon as you entered the...

Poped in for a late lunch after a week of hotel food on holiday whilst traveling home.. Food was amazing and value for money was exceptionally high. Staff very freidly and welcomingto the point we nearly stayed over as their was evening entertainment. Will defiantly be back.

I booked what I thought were 2 double rooms at this hotel through booking.com. However on checking into the hotel I was informed that I'd booked the rooms for single occupancy. I felt a bit duped at the time into paying the extra £30 per room to make up the cost for double occupancy, especially as the rooms were already...

Hi Sorry hear you did nt enjoy your stay with us You mention that you dont see the difference in the cost of single room to a double I think you will find that most hotels charge a different price for a double room from a single (there is the extra towels, shower gels etc, hot water and obviously breakfast)...

I would recommend the Golden Lion pub for a light lunch. I was passing through and found this place near the town centre. I had good homemade soup and an enormous sandwich for a very reasonable price and the service was quick and friendly.
