Its been many years since we've eaten here and the refurb is really smart and cosy. The only comment i would have is before booking i could not find a...

After a long walk along the river we found this place, dog friendly, open fire, friendly service and great food. So many options on larger and beer plus a brilliant warming atmosphere. You must call to this place if you're in the area

Just had a scone and coffee to keep us going on Hadrian's Wall walk. Friendly welcome and to the dog too. Nicely baked scone and lovely tart jam...wish we were staying for a lunch but had miles to go....

We decided to go out for Sunday lunch today. We chose a place that we have never been disappointed in and they didn't let us down. The crisp pork crackling and honeycomb cheesecake we we great. Obviously they weren't on the same plate. Looking forward to going again.

As it it one of the very few pubs that is close to the Hadrians Wall path, if you are a backpacker you are almost guaranteed to end up eating or drinking there during your journey. It's a very nice place and it's certainly a blessing to discover this pub in the middle of nowhere after hours of walking. The...
