I met the owner 10 yrs ago when I was walking just for sightseeing.

There are many local small hotels and guest houses around. The lady/the owner humbly invited me to look around in case for next time if I could visit.

Since then with every 2 yrs, I made there as my hotel destination both with family and friends. However, the right word for me here is "home".

Many thanks to Uncle Shinn, Nong Kwang & Nong Moo who always treat me and make me feel it home.

***Incredible southern cuisine, & great spicy fusion.

Look forward to seeing all of you again very soon.

We only stayed here one night, as we were en route to the Trang Islands. The rooms are just fine and the prices are affordable. They have WiFi access, 2 computers available for guest use, and a wonderful cafe/restaurant. The staff are very friendly and helpful! We really enjoyed walking around Trang at night and sampling the street food. Try to arrange your itinerary for a Fri, Sat, or Sun stay in Trang, so you can experience the amazing night market.

Also-if you need help planning your trip to Trang Islands, we HIGHLY recommend a visit to the Tourist Information Office (w/hot pink awning) next door to Sri Trang Hotel!!! One of the owners (Sai) is sooo on top of things! She gave us wonderful recommendations on where to stay on Koh Muk (Mook) Island and arranged all of our transportation (air-con minivan, long-tail boat, flight back to Bangkok). She is an amazing communicator and we really enjoyed talking with her about Thai culture.

We were very happy with our stay at Sri-Trang Hotel. It’s very well-run and super friendly. The location was convenient and easy to find--across from the train station. The lobby/common areas were welcoming and nicely laid out with extra amenities such as computer terminals and sitting areas, so it’s not hard to feel at home. The room décor was not fancy, but the room was cheerful, very clean, functional, and had everything we needed. The room was large and so was the fridge. Wifi was free. Both the hot water heater for the shower and the air conditioning in the room were excellent. The room rate was very budget and a real bargain for the quality you get.

I booked this hotel on Expedia and it seems they are working together as the hotel is not open.

On arrival you will be met by a vicious dog at the gates them a senior gentleman comes to advise they are not open.

Then he tells you to cancel the booking and they will c9nfirm with Expedia.

I did that and called Expedia and of course once you cancel then there is no refund I therefore lost the full amount of my booking to this scam.

Naturally Expedia will investigate and advise within 14 days - needless to say nothing heard.

The only good to come out of this is that I did not have to stay as the reception area behind the gates is disgusting- nothing like the photos.

This was our third stay here in a long trip around asia .we were travelling to malaysia and stayed one nite , payed 740 thb for a double room with aircon and hot shower , tv and wifi in room was patchy .
On the face of it the rooms are clean and spacious, well equipped and clean .this was our third stay and had no problems before .but we had room one on the first floor and had to move at 3 am , due to bedbugs in the pillow and bedding .to be fair they quickly moved us from the room ,but it ruined the night sleep for us .

It was a shame as its a good little place with really helpful staff .so hopefully they will deal with the bedbugs issue .
Downstairs their cafe 1952 , does really good food , but the wonderbar next door seems to have gone downhill .
As other reviewers have said it can be noisy , as you can hear all the train station annoucements , and for some strange reason trang town has loudspeakers that play loud music very early in the morning - might be the national anthem , not sure !!!
So light sleepers bring earplugs .and maybe some bug spray !!!.

Spent a night at Sri Trang. Great location. Next to night market. Love the food. Too bad I didn't spend much time in Trang. But I would defnitely come back in future.

The hotel is suitable for family too. But have to bear with thin wall. I could virtually hear what's going on in the next room.

We arrived at Trang station and walked around to see a few hotels all on the same street across from the station. We liked the room in this place and stayed. It was clean and comfortable, had en-suite rooms, air conditioning and really friendly staff. Wunderbar next door must be owned by them as they share the kitchen and bathrooms at the back.

It's an excellent choice for a two star in Trang and convenient for the train station and the bars/restaurants.

Arrived in Trang and looked at a few places, you can either get decent rooms and pay the average to high price or budget rooms with no toilet and gloomy looking. After spending a few days in a basic wooden bungalow we needed hot water, wifi and a comfy bed. This place was perfect and our room was large, fridge, fan and it was a light room. The staff are friendly here and the food is good- although quite small portions so not recommended for dinner. Only a 10 minute walk to the market which is good. Across the road from the train station too.

We really enjoyed the Sr Trang Hotel. You can see it from the train station, so it's really easy if you come in by train. The hotel is clean, with good size rooms, a decent size fridge, free wifi, hot water- all for 550 baht/night (just over $18 USD). There's a nice restaurant attached, with good prices, and there's American food on the menu, in case you need a break from Thai food. There's a room in the lobby area with books, computers, and a koi pond- comfortable place to hang out. The owner's son is wonderful- friendly, with tips on things to do, places to go. The weekend night market is right outside the door. The hotel rooms are not fancy, but they have everything you need, and the restaurant is one of the nicest around.
