There are many local small hotels and guest houses around. The lady/the owner humbly invited me to look around in case for next time if I could visit.
Since then with every 2 yrs, I made there as my hotel destination both with family and friends. However, the right word for me here is "home".
Many thanks to Uncle Shinn, Nong Kwang & Nong Moo who always treat me and make me feel it home.
***Incredible southern cuisine, & great spicy fusion.
Look forward to seeing all of you again very soon.
Also-if you need help planning your trip to Trang Islands, we HIGHLY recommend a visit to the Tourist Information Office (w/hot pink awning) next door to Sri Trang Hotel!!! One of the owners (Sai) is sooo on top of things! She gave us wonderful recommendations on where to stay on Koh Muk (Mook) Island and arranged all of our transportation (air-con minivan, long-tail boat, flight back to Bangkok). She is an amazing communicator and we really enjoyed talking with her about Thai culture.
On arrival you will be met by a vicious dog at the gates them a senior gentleman comes to advise they are not open.
Then he tells you to cancel the booking and they will c9nfirm with Expedia.
I did that and called Expedia and of course once you cancel then there is no refund I therefore lost the full amount of my booking to this scam.
Naturally Expedia will investigate and advise within 14 days - needless to say nothing heard.
The only good to come out of this is that I did not have to stay as the reception area behind the gates is disgusting- nothing like the photos.
On the face of it the rooms are clean and spacious, well equipped and clean .this was our third stay and had no problems before .but we had room one on the first floor and had to move at 3 am , due to bedbugs in the pillow and bedding .to be fair they quickly moved us from the room ,but it ruined the night sleep for us .
It was a shame as its a good little place with really helpful staff .so hopefully they will deal with the bedbugs issue .
Downstairs their cafe 1952 , does really good food , but the wonderbar next door seems to have gone downhill .
As other reviewers have said it can be noisy , as you can hear all the train station annoucements , and for some strange reason trang town has loudspeakers that play loud music very early in the morning - might be the national anthem , not sure !!!
So light sleepers bring earplugs .and maybe some bug spray !!!.
The hotel is suitable for family too. But have to bear with thin wall. I could virtually hear what's going on in the next room.
It's an excellent choice for a two star in Trang and convenient for the train station and the bars/restaurants.
