we stayed here the first week in may 2017, the hotel as been revamped to a very high standard . all the hotel is very very nice . the staff were very good nothing to much trouble for them and always looked after with a big smile. we was on half board breakfast is not brilliant but was getting better...

Arrived 3rd October - all ok Swimming Pool unusable - no hot water 4th October informed - BY OTHER GUEST! - that the hotel was closing on 6th October (we were booked in until 14th - no-one from hotel informed us Moved by hotel to another (quite unsuitable) hotel Just been onto websites and noticed they are still taking bookings!!...

Good location we had no problem with noise from aircrafts or the road with the doors closed hot water if you want a shower get up at 06.00 or you can kiss the idea goodby staff all very friendly and try to please breakfast edible but repetitive and boring I would go again for the location if the price is...

Friendly and helpful staff. Smiley Tania taught me Portuguese at reception. Spacious rooms cleaned daily. Nice pool. An excellent base for your holiday. If you want perfection then go elsewhere. If you want value for money, this is it. Obrigado Hotel Santa Catarina.

Booked a weeks stay at this hotel, in all fairness paid next to nothing. I didn't have high expectations however on arrival I pleasantly surprised. Friendly staff and a clean reception area. I am shocked and annoyed that 5 days prior to flying out to Madeira for a long awaited break i was advised this morning by Loveholidays.com that my hotel part of my holiday has been cancelled. The hotel is in a good location, the rooms are very spacious and cleaned daily, the breakfast was excellent, English and continental and as much as you wanted,the pool area needed a bit of maintenance, but the pool was cleaned regular, the only downside was the water situation, we had a room on the forth floor with a wonderful sunny...

The hotel is in a great location, close to the cafes and restaurants. It is quite dated and in need of refurbishment, but it is very clean. No air conditioning, we asked for a fan and they gave us one that started to set on fire when we plugged it in....we were already warm so decided against using it ;)...

A great hotel with staff that really look after its guests.Miguel,Tania and Bruno were so helpful during our stay.Close to bars and restaurants in Santa Cruz.Plenty of choice at breakfast.Good pool area,don't be put off by the flyover or the planes landing at the airport,the noise is minimal.If you want a chilled out and relaxing holiday,this place is for you...

The staff make this hotel. Yes it maybe is starting to look a bit dated but you get what you pay for. It is not 'The Ritz' by any means but the rooms are clean & comfortable.
