After Kuala Lumpur, I flew directly to Sibu with Air Asia and stayed two nights in Sibu in this hotel. Having prepaid for my stay, for just 43 euros all-in, altogether, for two nights, via a Dutch hotel booking website, back home in Amsterdam before i left for my trip, I was absolutely delighted with my room and actually with my whole stay in the Paramount Hotel. The hotel reception could also get me a Grab car within 5 minutes so i had no complaints whatsoever other than the fact that one or two of the reception staff might probably has/have to brush up his or her spoken English, so as avoid any would-be future misunderstandings with the hotel guests, this being apparently mostly a business travellers hotel (as Sibu apparently has very few tourists!). But the whole reception team was actually mostly very kind and helpful during my stay. Extra bonuses for me were the simply wonderful river view from my room as well as the various new developments right behind this hotel, with quite many trendy and hip restaurants and cafes. For in-house guests, without breakfast being included in the room rate, a good set breakfast (both eastern or western) can be ordered on the same morning, at the cafe next to the reception, for just 18 ringgit all-in per person.

Hi. Ok so this hotel is quite okay to stay, it’s just that before checking in, they still need verification that you really booked this hotel using your credit card i guess? And if they failed to do so, you will need to pay a deposit of RM 50 to stay there. Meaning, additional 50MYR. 🤷🏻‍♀️ For the places that sell best foods around that area, I suggest going to the villages near the hotel. There’s a place in the village called “Roy’s Corner” . My favourite food there will be “Mee Kampua” and also the roasted chicken. And the drinks there are also sold in XXL size 💁🏻‍♀️ ( in case you’re THAT thirsty 😂) across the street of this hotel, there’s also a cafe named “Rafie Cafe”. They sell lots of food there like Roti Canai, Briyani Rice, Salted egg Chicken Rice and lots more! They even have their own buffet their just in case you wanna eat ‘nasi campur’ 💁🏻‍♀️ So far everything’s delicious there too :)

Very old hotel, feels like 30 years ago kind of hotel. Air con very loud and disturbing, my staff room water supply stopped a few hours before midnight. We had to kill spiders in the room.. pillow is super flat. We didn’t have a good night sleep. The whole hotel smells bad.

The Paramount Hotel Sibu is on the edge of the shopping and eating centre of this small city and is about a 5-minute walk along a canal. It is a basic hotel with clean rooms, although the carpet did need a thorough vacuuming. That aside the bathroom was clean, even though there was a leak in one of the pipes. The staff are quite friendly and try to help out. What is outstanding with the hotel is the view. If you are fortunate enough to get a room facing the Rajang River, it is possible to get a good view of this mighty, historically and economically important rivers. Rivers were the 'roads' of Sarawak and the Rajang was almost like a super highway.

It was ok for me. The room is clean, free from unwanted smell. I guess each rooms are provided with iron and also iron board so we do not need to ask for it. The buffet is ok. But there no park to park ur car. Need to find coupon before you park ur car. The conference room is ok.

It was a basic hotel, clean and decent. The front counter staff were most helpful. It was my choice due to proximity with the meeting venue. Located at the quieter part of town but close proximity to the town square, Dataran Sibu, where major events are usually held. Don't expect any major attractions nearby other than the above.

If you are just staying for 1 or 2 nights like us here for a work trip, it's generally clean and acceptable. As it's a pretty old hotel, dont expect fancy stuffs. Our room comes with breakfast, not impressively with lots of food variety but the basic offer are there- coffee/tea/juice, congee, noodle/rice, cereal, bread. They don't have live egg station and toaster. But you may request for soft/hard boiled egg and that's it. But we like it they do provide daily newspaper slot into the room door.

1 night stay at 2 deluxe room (each with 1 king + 1 single) for 5 adults. We arrived in the morning and was allowed to check in for both rooms. Reception staff is friendly. Deposit needed for check in. Good view from high floor room. Requested for non-smoking rooms but it seems that all rooms are smoking rooms as astray is found in both of our rooms. One of our room is full of left-over cigarette smell, where we have to leave the window open for few hours to get it ventilated. Air-conditioning in room is working fine, room is generally clean, but found one small lizard in one of the room. Room is spacious for 3 adults. Free cable channel and free wifi provided. Room lighting is good with centralized control panel next to bed. The king sized bed on our room in 7th floor is old and uneven. bathroom is clean, with amenities provided. breakfast provided is better than I expected. Mainly local dishes (porridge, fried noodles etc) with fruits and some desserts. Check out is fast. Overall, value for money hotel. 24hr self service laundry can be found next to hotel. Parking coupon (purchased from nearby pondok) is needed for your car for weekday 8am -12pm, 1.30pm to 5pm. Short drive to mall. 10minute drive to temple and night market.

Staying for 2 nights, room was clean and amenities was provided. Breakfast was not bad either and the cafe is clean. The reception counter charges RM50 deposit per stay and refundable upon checking out. Ample parking space outside the building. Few restaurants nearby and 7-E across the road, self service coin's laundry shop. Overall not bad!
