Stayed in this hotel in June 2023 & have stayed here in my previous trips to Sibu. Average hotel but what I found is that the hotel internet is non existent in the rooms (I stayed on 9th Floor)except at lobby. Even try to get a hotspot connection via my mobile is next to impossible. So do bear this in mind if you want to stay in and surf. Apart from internet, all other facilities are ok.

One of the more popular hotel in Sibu. Check in was fast. Booked a family room. The room is spacious with basic ammenities. The room seemed to be newly refrubished. But the toilet a bit not to my liking. Old shower which you feel can break if you turn it. Would have a prefer a shower cubicle. WC is not working properly. The hotel is within walking distance to most attraction places in Sibu. The Heritage Centre, The Central Market, The Temple and Night Market

My wife and I stayed at Kingwood Sibu new wing for 3 days during the Ching Ming weekend. There was not one experience in this hotel that was memorable or comfortable. Checking in was done by a girl who could not find our booking and she screwed up her face, looking in disdain at the screen shot of our booking which we showed to her. There is a RM 50.00 deposit to be paid in cash for the key cards. In case of loss of the key card the deposit is forfeited. The room was on the 16th floor facing the river. Unfortunately, the windows were so dirty that we could hardly see anything. There is no in room safe, only one hand towel even at double occupancy and there is a charge for an extra towel or extra anything. The floor was dusty with hair accumulated and during the 3 days stay room cleaning was just to empty the trash can and change the towels. There was loud drilling and construction noise throughout our stay but no advance notice was given. Even during the early hours in the morning there was scraping sound when the debris from the construction was removed. The carpets in the corridors and lifts have a strong mouldy smell which permeates throughout the hotel. Breakfast in the coffee shop on the ground floor was a sad affair. Everything, including cutleries, coffee & tea was buffet style. The plates were plastic and the food of low quality and by 8.45am mostly cold. I took the last 2 soft boiled eggs from a chafing dish. The eggs were stone cold and still had feathers and chicken manure on the shell. The cutleries get a cursory wash and wipe in the sink behind the bar counter. How hygienic is that? Eating time is limited to 1/2 hour due to limited capacity! Never mind, with lousy food and no service, who wants to stay longer? On the weekend when the hotel has banquets, the in door parking is full, yet cars are allowed to drive in and the attendant issues tickets. It took me about 1/2 hour driving around the car park to finally squeeze my car into an empty space near the ramp. Parking outside the hotel is impossible as at anytime there is already double parking in the small congested roads. For a 4 star hotel the product and services offered are an insult to the customer.

After attending a friend's daugther wedding dinner in Sarikei, we drove to Sibu Kingwood Hotel to stay for a night. Checked in 15 Dec 2022, Room 610. I am very disappointed it was not a best Riverview room, blocked by the Function/swimming pool building. Room is bare minimum , nothing set up, no coffee/te, no bedroom slipper, no safebox, no sofa & coffee table, one hand towel for 2 occupants !!!! Room windows safety latch is broken, some stain on entrance door, bathtub stopper control is broken. Called housekeeping , they offer to call Maintenance to fix window locks...Front office to do room change. Have rejected their offer as i am very very disppointed !!! Wonder how do this Hotel check in guest to a supposedly "vacant clean" where there are defects!!! It should not have happened. Last but not least, the staff at River Front Cafe entrance is rude and unfriendly !! Lots of room for improvement !!!!!

I did not have high expectation about Kingwood Hotel Sibu so I don't have much disappointment during my stay. There are not many options in Sibu so this one is consider moderate. I was lucky enough to be given a quiet room since it was quite peak and high occupancy during my stays. One thing I dislike is that the housekeeping did not clean the cup that I used in the morning.

I booked 3 rooms in the new wing (Block B) for my family since we were only in Sibu for a 1 night transit. All rooms were clean, and had basic amenities. Since we were on a roadtrip, we had to park our car at the elevated parking lots. This parking lot is quite cramped (mostly 4x4s) and closes at 12midnight. So if you're returning to the hotel after midnight, you probably have to park outside. Not sure how it was pre-covid, but during our stay, our breakfast was served at the banquet hall, with round tables (for 8/10pax) set up.

When my friends drop by Sibu for a visit, normally I will recommend them to stay at Kingwood Hotel. The aubergine is one of the finest hotels in this quaint town of Sibu. Oh ya, it's rated 4 stars, so you'll feel right at home at Kingwood Hotel as it offers quality accommodation and great service. The only downside that I can think of is this hotel is located quite a distance from the city centre. So, you might need to use Grab to get where you want to go.

Friendly receptionist. Room was great and spacious. Nice view of the River.. easy to get grab to anywhere around the town as its in the town itself. Breakfast was not up to the standard I expected maybe due to the reason they do not want to serve buffet during the covid 19 pandemic. Nevertheless one of the best hotels in sibu. Worth the stay
