In new rooms, they not bad but very bad drain smell in disabled room. Location very good. Main building and surrounding car park a bit grubby. Breakfast room very cafe like definitely Not four star. Cooked your own toast, serve yourself tea. All very basic much like a canteen.

Once again I have visited Ye olde fighting cocks, Arnside...why...? Because each time I have visited, all the staff are very friendly and welcoming, the food is delicious and there's also a good choice of drink( which obviously helps)... But I will be back and would recommend this establishment to anyone...🙂

This is a top quality establishment. Very welcoming, top class modern rooms with a beautiful view across the sea. Breakfast was delicious, rooms really comfortable and prices very good value. Parking is available on site, showers great with nice shower gel and shampoo, too. Can't fault it.

This is a lovely little pub in a beautiful area, I wish it hadn't been as windy on our visit so we could have sat outside and enjoyed the view. We received a really warm welcome from the young man behind the bar and Michelle our waitress was so friendly and attentive, she couldn't do enough for you. They do...

We stayed one night here. It is in the most fabulous position with spectacular views. This place could be excellent with just a little work. We stayed in the annexe in an upstairs room. The stairs gave a bad first impression as there were cigarette ends all over. One of the downstairs rooms had a horrible dirty ashtray outside on...

The Fighting Cocks is in a great location with views over the estuary. We stayed the one night in the Luxury rooms accommodation. The rooms are very small, with floor to ceiling windows overlooking the estuary. Not sure where the luxury description comes from other than the availability of towelling robes. The rooms could be cleaner with dust around the...

Well if you're looking for somewhere to stay for Cartmel races then this place is great. however although room comfortable and clean, we returned home from the races to find our ground floor room was unlocked and open door, so just a heads up that this sort of thing can happen. To be fair, the manager on duty was concerned...

All in all a great place: I've stopped in nicer rooms, but this really was absolutely fine, especially considering the price. Our room was Silverdale- high up, with a great view. Bed was comfortable, shower a little cramped for height (I'm 6' 4", to be fair) but otherwise very good. Food and beer in the pub above average and OK...

This fine place is somewhere you are made to feel part of the family rather than a paying guest. I stayed in a small single room, cheap but not overpriced. It was quiet and comfortable, but the toilet was down the hall next to the breakfast room. Thoughtfully a towelling robe had been provided - useful for those journeys! Despite...
