We came from England. After when i drive 10 hours and we arrived was nobody there and everything was closed. No reception no person who give help for me. We got the key from another hotel. The breakfast was in different hotel. The whole building was dark and cold. We came with two kids and in the room was just three bad and towels for just three people.
It's a restaurant, not a hotel. This is just the beginning of their false claims advertisement on booking.com. They also claimed on booking.com to be nearer to Koblenz 15 km, in reality it is more. They claimed they are nearer to train station, which is 1.1 km away, definitely not worth the walk. We informed them of late check-in due to train delay, asked them about possible pickup / taxi, the owner simply laughed and put down the phone! We didn't know at that time that what was else in store for us! When we reached there at 12 with tired group of seniors and children, there was no one at the reception. In fact, there is NO RECEPTION AREA in the hotel, and we were lucky to receive our keys from an Italian guy who listened nothing - that we had kids, and seniors who could not climb 40 steps - 2 floors up!. We had to resort to their choices of rooms despite having booked quite early. We had clearly communicated our group details, and received no response from them. We should have understood it by then! The rooms were clumsy, too small to walk. The bathrooms worse, no water outlet. The water from the tap which they claimed drinkable smelt horrible. They proudly say on booking.com that "we speak your language" but in reality no one does! All of them speak German. All they do is stare at us, scoff at us being outsiders, and come to us wherever they need to explain their rules, but never understand our concerns! The only handlers of things were restaurant officials who were present some 2-3 hours in the morning that we knew of. They never cared to ask us how we felt, what we liked, but were quick to bill us 24 hours before checkout because it was the day they were closed. On top of everything, despite having breakfast included, they made us walk 500 m every morning to get our breakfast at the other property, which in effect killed the whole purpose of having breakfast at the hotel. It was a distance we had to travel only after getting ready because we could not afford to walk back at the property. Kamp Bornhofen has no bus and taxis, and Hotel im Rheintal isn't helpful in any way. I would have left negative stars if I really could. Avoid at all costs.…
It was clean and in general has well designed interior. This was all positive things. Upon arrival our room changed on smaller one (double room with additional bed for kid poked in) because of we have had cat. The room was not prepared. It was known by the host in advance that there were no central heating working. In spite of this, we were accommodated there with the promises that it will be all settled. Whole night it was terribly frizzing in such an extent that we slept in sweaters. We requested additional blankets, we had got only vain promises. It was a small room and there was only ventilation through the window, which could be opened only if it was warm enough. After one day and night they changed our room. This time heater was working hard so we barely suffocated in the night. With opened window it was very noisy. Upon leaving we tried to negotiate to reduce the price since we did book larger room (triple room). But the answer was that you had three beds so it was triple room. There was only one guy among personnel who tried to make amendments, but it seems he could not help it. …
Arrived in the early evening. Greeted by the hostess and given details of mealtime. Room was comfortable and warm. The dining area could have done with a warming, tiled flooring. The food was fairly basic but nutritional.
Stayed here for 4 nights with my school group. Excellent facilities, there was a big dining room for the whole group which we used in the evenings too, an enclosed patio area for other evening activities, with table table tennis and table football, big rooms for the pupils, great food which was enjoyed by the fussiest of eaters, lovely, helpful staff who helped to make our stay so easy. Highly recommend it!
I stayed here as a teacher with a group of 40 Y7s. The rooms were great for staff and students alike with plenty of space and well furnished. Some higher and at the front had lovely views over the Rhein. There was some noise from the railway at the back but we quickly adjusted and slept well given how much we were doing in the day. The hotel is very convenient for Kamp Bornhofen amenities like shops and the excellent local outdoor pool is a few steps away. We stayed full board - a good continental breakfast and packed lunch was provided and the evening meals were excellent, with the staff understanding very well the sort of food English children will eat. The pizza night was a highlight! There was a huge private breakfast room we could use as a classroom in the evenings and where we could watch the Germany France Euro football game on a projector, and there was a large secure outdoor terrace space at the back as well as the pictured tables and chairs at the front. Whilst I visited with a school party, I could see myself returning independently or with friends.…
We just loved being here. It was an awesome stay. The room was neat, clean, good and comfortable. The bathroom had all necessary amenities and the room was colorful. Staff were friendly. They do not understand English, but you can communicate to some extent. The cook is Italian and he was just a darling, who took the time to understand what we need to eat and how should it be made. You can try out anything and its just wonderful. Cycles are available on rent for the entire day. The only problem is carrying the baggage to the uppermost floor but the view is good. I must say the wi-fi strength was excellent. Auxana and LouieG are most helpful.
The hotel had basic amenities. Poor spring beds. Average location given the otherwise umpteen number of other hotels around the region to chose from. Basic breakfast. Not English friendly. Parking was free.
I had an amazing time with the Arnewood school! We really miss it and I really wish I could turn back time to go back! The staff are really nice and the food was great! Thanks for a great time! The journey home was boring but the ferry was nice Review from Ben (Stayed 23/10/14- 28/11/14)
This hotel was a very nice place to be but the owners patrolled the corridors at night and they knocked on my door at 2 am! The rest of my party found it very freaky and we will never be returning! all that besides the food was lovely
