The room was a good size and very clean - facing the back. It had coffee making facilities but no coffee or tea - not what we would have expected for the stars/price (the inn and b&b we stayed in on the same trip did). The location is really nice - and ample parking. The lovely breakfast room which has a nice view was unfortunately locked straight after breakfast. It would have been nice to have relaxed there or on the front terrace which wasn’t set out on our visit. As we didn’t have a balcony (which was fine) we didn’t have anywhere nice to relax to enjoy the river or outside. Check in ends at 6pm which is the earliest I’ve ever come across in any hotel. Check out was 10.30 even on a Sunday which is also one of the earliest I’ve stayed at - be warned there is no movement on this by even 30 minutes! All the facilities are there to be a great hotel - but felt a bit ‘shut down’ and too much £ for what it is.…
Our daughter made her wedding in this village and booked all the rooms in the hotel for her guests, but we were very unhappy with the service quality with such a high room rate 1) we can’t make cancellation for guests who were not able to come due to health or business issues even 3/4 weeks before, 2) we should pay with cash and no formal receipt, 3) breakfast was still minimalist as other clients complained previously, 4) we should check out at 10:30am (no compromise or no exception) even we booked the whole hotel for the wedding period and our guests came back to the hotel at 5am after wedding celebration the date before. The owner knocked at each door at 10:15am and chased our guests to get out from their rooms at10:30am - pretty harsh!
Even though one needs to take the ferry to cross the Rhine to visit Boppard, St Goar and Bacharach...it's works! It is a neat experience to use the 5 minute ferry ride to Boppard; and being on the opposite side of the river to those towns - is no problem at all. The small room was clean, charming with nice-sized balcony and lovely view of river. Even though the hotel is on the main road noise wasn't too bad - there were shutters that covered the windows and made it dark and quiet. Be aware...there is no wifi! Easy parking, adequate breakfast ...fresh eggs to order.
Lovely place. Rooms with balcony view over the river lovely. Good breakfast and excellent, friendly owner. Pity restaurant not open. Arrived holiday weekend was pleased to find accommodation. Was going to book for one night saw room and decided to stay for three
